1. Introduction

The Computer Literacy skill is extremely important for everyone. Not only does it govern the majority of your NCU throughout your levelling career, it's also required to equip a lot of end-game gear. Until TL7, there is no such thing as 'too much' Comp Lit, and often even at 220 it can be a struggle to get the required amount for some of those tasty items, particularly for Shades. If you find items that buff CompLit, hold on to them for this reason.

The ability itself is 100% Intelligence based. This is important to note for the purposes of trickledown from items/implants/buffs that boost Int. Sometimes it's worth equipping something that will give you high Int boosts over low CompLit boosts simply because the trickle will give a greater CompLit benefit in the end. It's also worth noting that partial points of CompLit from trickledown are rounded down and ignored by AO, but it can all add up if you have several items that give a trickle - the end result might be a surprise extra point or two of CompLit.

Note: The exchange rate on trickledown is 1 point of CL for every 4 points of Intelligence.

I would suggest using a thirdparty implant designer to figure out the requirements needed. Personally I would recommend ImplantHelper.

It is important to note that Symbiants contain Comp Lit and usually some attribute boosts for trickle. This needs to be taken into consideration when caluclating how much CompLit an implant can buff by, as it's unlikely that you will use a symbiant to buff CompLit with when a higher rating can be gained from implants/refined implants.
