New Engine Screenshots!

Remember that these are works in progress and may not reflect what the final product may look like. With that said, I think they look great and I can't wait for the release video later this month!

Guide Info & AOU Wants You!

Firstly, thank you to everyone for giving their feedback and helping us along as we've transitioned to the new site. It hasn't been entirely smooth, though no one expected it would be, but it has been a lot easier thanks to the wonderful AO players that have given their input and helped figure out some bugs. The new site will continue to allow us to add new and more useful features, so make sure to keep an eye out for that!

Two things really quick about guides. Something that I believe many people wanted, was for daily mission guides (Classic, AI, and SL) to have their own sub-section so they would be easier to find. This has been done so far with Classic and AI, with SL and(to some extent) LE getting theirs shifted over in the next few days. Do keep in mind I think when I added the Daily Missions section to Classic, it kinda sorta broke it, so the box to click on it isn't where it should be, but that's just a minor issue and won't be around for long.

Also with guides, you've probably noticed some of the images are either missing entirely, or have a link to the image instead of displaying them in the guide itself. We are going through them one by one to see which ones are missing them, or linking to them, and fixing them as we can. Obviously the linking part we can fix more easily, but ones that are missing entirely require going out and getting new shots to replace the ones that the leets ran off with. We're hoping to get them all updated and fixed quickly, and of course if you have a screenshot of something that is missing, we're always happy to accept those and give you credit for the submission.

And on the note of submissions.. it's recruitment time!

Many exciting things are planned for AO Universe and we would like the community to be a part of it! We are always looking for dedicated, committed and creative people to join our team. Be part of the #1 AO fan site in the world, by players, for players and submit your application.

The following positions are currently available:

Content Editors
They are responsible for pouring over the existing content on the site and making sure it is up-to-date and current/correct. If it is not, they correct it. They are also welcome to add their own guides/content.

Columnists:
If you want to write topics of interest for our readers that are related to Anarchy Online or the MMO genre we'd love to have you in our staff. A sample of your writing should be included in your application.

Artists or Graphics Designers:
Are you able to make wallpapers or launcher skins for our site or just have artistic talent you want to share with the AOU Community? We would be happy to feature your work.

All positions requires good English writing skills. No forum moderation is required unless otherwise indicated as we have a dedicated reptile to do this. Applications should be made by sending an email to silvana(at)ao-universe.com or sending a PM to Silvana here on the forums. All messages should include details of the position you are interested in and a sample of your work as it relates to AO.

All team positions are on a volunteer basis. Staff members have access to private forums for the exclusive use of the team for communication purposes.

The New AOU Is Live!

Thanks for the wait everyone! It was a long time coming for us as well, and we can only hope that the changes we have made will benefit the entire community in the long run. We're very proud of all the work that has been done over the years by AOU staff, our partners, players, and the random guest!

You are hereby welcome to break anything you can find, and then report it back to us. Please keep in mind there are some things that are not fully in place because they will require a very long time to get done and the items in place of those are not anything that will keep you from fully utilizing the site.

A final note about the new layout.

You can click on a news article to expand it. You no longer need to click a link to get to a forum page to read the whole item. The main story will always be expanded, but anything after that is shrunk down for your convenience. You can click on the title, or the plus sign, to expand it!
All of the other new/changed things, you'll have to find for yourself! Trust me, they are worth it ;)

Remember to check in to the GSP Sprkle Party today at 10am PDT, 1pm EDT or 6pm GMT, to hear about some upcoming goodies from AOU and GSP!
