Preamble
Before we go into the crafting tables, let me explain a bit.
What you need before starting is the according Beta Spirit, which is loot in most cases at The Alien Threat a.k.a. Mitaar Hero, The Xan a.k.a. 12-man-instance and Ground Chief Vortexx.
In the tables the lowest quality spirit is mentioned, which is reported to work for creating Alpha spirits. A list of these lowest spirits was created by Solstiare at the Shade Profession Boards at the official AO Forums - thank you very much for allowing to use your list, Solstiare!
Upgrading the Alphas
The lower quality spirits create quality level 250 Alpha spirits, these you can upgrade in more or less steps towards quality 300 Alphas by adding more Beta spirits - untill the Alpha reached the quality of your choice... or of course quality 300. The result is displayed by the quality 300 version of the Alpha.
Once you have created different Alphas for the same location - eg. head - you can combines those two Alphas into one Alpha for head location with the skill enhancements of both original Alphas along with additional skill enhancements (see results). This combining is right below the crafting table of the "lesser Alphas". Exception: Feet location appears do have no upgrade.
It is reported that these combined Alpha Spirits can be increased in quality level by adding one of the previous used Beta Spirits. (Thank you for the info, Keex)

For figuring out the crafting steps I looked at the Alphas and evaluated which sources should be used to create it. This is a way with possible mistakes, so there is no guarantee as long as I don't get confirmation feedback from the Shade community. Gladly (or not) the drop locations for the Beta Spirits are pretty densed up to one location for a certain slot Spirit. Hope the list helps you on finding what you look for.
