This dungeon is for low level players between levels 5-25. After level 25 you will be unable to enter it. However if you manage to get past level 25 inside the dungeon you can remain inside, but if you exit the dungeon you won't be able to get back in. Faction: All Factions

While you may find a Subway located in West Athen, Newland City, Tir, Rome Blue, (located just outside of the eastern gate), and Borealis, these Subways are "closed" and can not be entered. As of Patch 18.7 the only access to the Subway is now found in ICC HQ. With the location of the Condemned Subway being in a Neutral city, there is no faction restriction to enter the Condemned Subway. Additionally, unlike Temple of Three Winds you may enter immediately with no quest required to gain access.
The Subway is located conveniently just south of the Arrival Hall after you leave the starter area for the game, Arete Landing. Exit the Arrival Hall, turn left and you'll see it. For a waypoint, click here:

Note: The Condemned Subway is located southeast of the Transport Building, past the elevated Monument, then next to the Arrival Hall.

Entrance to the Condemned Subway in ICC HQ.
Note: While you're still welcome to enter as a single player if you decide to go inside with friends be sure you do not do so without being teamed. If the place is full you may end up playing in completely different instances of the dungeon, however teams should always get inside the same instance.
The entrance area is filled with billboards for various AO related items that might be familiar, including Helpbot, Gridstream Productions, Dovve's Maps (which is one of the older player-created maps in the game) and Nano Nanny among others.

Various billboards.
The subway has a few sections. The upper levels are full of criminal elements like muggers, looters, deranged shoppers, old droids and filth fleas. You will come into a large atrium with passages that lead off to the left and right. To the left you will find 6 shops that you can use to buy and sell items. There is another room past the shops, but it is a dead end with muggers and looters. The right side from the large atrium will lead you to the next section.

Inside the subway.
Note: Muggers will attack you on sight anywhere in the subway.
Below is a detailed map of the condemned subway.

These are the mobs you will face at the top level. There are some nice items to be found on this level of the dungeon, including a leveling (right-click on it) NCU Morphing Memory, froob shirt (for all you fr00bs that want to represent) and also some mobs drop the self leveling (right-click on it) Living Cyber Armor - of which some part can also be obtained by Neutral or Omni Party Mixer.
Here is a list of all regular mobs in this area with approximate level and interesting loot that they may carry.
Name | Level Range | Loot |
![]() Filth Flea | 5+ | Nothing worth anything. Monster parts |
![]() Discarded Pet | 6+ | |
![]() Disobedient Bot | 10+
![]() Looter | 8+ | Nothing worth anything. |
![]() Violent Vagabond | 8+
![]() Mugger | 7+ | Nothing worth anything. |
Note: Muggers attack on sight, and Looters and Discarded Pets may attack you as well because of it.
As you work your way down you will find a few dead ends, like a corridor leading to a crashed subway. A few drug addicts, former subway workers and dark beasts who love the shadows reside in this area.

The Strike Foreman.
At this point you will face the first boss, who is not as tough as he may sound. The Strike Foreman is a level 19 mob, guarded by Workmen Strikers and Architect Strikers. He drops construction set items and sometimes he rarely drops a very nice pair of boots that have the nano Terrain Knowledge built into them, they are called the Boots of Infinite Speed. He is located in a corridor above the subway station that connects both sides of the station.

Note: All mobs with the name Striker are social, which means if you attack one, every Striker within line of sight will also attack you (the Foreman as well). This also applies to the Shadow mobs. Slum Runners attack on sight.
Name | Level Range | Loot |
![]() Shadow | 13+ | Nothing worth anything. |
![]() Stim Fiend | 14+ | Health and nano kits and stims. |
![]() Architect Striker | 15+
![]() Workman Striker | 16+
![]() Slum Runner | 18+ | Nothing worth anything. |
In addition to the normal item drops from mobs, starting with Patch 18.6.17 a new set of weapons was added to the Condemned Subway. These weapons are the smaller cousins of the Lost Eden based Ofab weapons, but unlike them, do not require expansions to use. These weapons have a chance to drop from any mob in the Condemned Subway though they do seem to drop more frequently from the Workman Strikers.
List of froob-friendly Illegally Modified Ofab weapons.
From the large room with the subway tracks and platforms, you will find four subway tunnels that lead away from the platform area. All but one are dead ends with garbage fleas or slum runners. One tunnel will lead to door to a passage with infectors. Beyond the infectors is a spiral staircase that leads to the lower part of the condemned subway.
As soon as you get to the bottom of a long spiral set of stairs an Uncontrollable Anger (yes that is its name) will be waiting for you. More Infectors and Slum Runners lie in waiting as you go deeper into the dungeon past the flying beast. You may notice that as you go deeper into the dungeon the room gets darker, so don't be surprised if a mob jumps you from a dark spot you may have missed. Also be aware that there are some areas where you will be blinded by mobs (and this means your screen will go black) so be careful because during those few seconds you may get attacked by other mobs you will not see until you regain your vision.
Getting closer to the end section of the subway there will be a slew of disgruntled failed Cyborg experiments like Fragmented Soul, Premature Pattern, Neural Burnout and others. I highly recommend you be with team of players 15+ to have a chance of survival here. All the humanoid mobs in the lower part of the subway have a small chance of dropping Living Cyber Armor Helmet, Pants, or Gloves. Melded Patterns and Eumenidies have a chance of dropping the Living cyber Armor Sleeves. Living Cyber Armor is a nice set of self leveling armor to use after the sided start-up armor that is obtained on Arete. You can't get a full set of Living Cyber Armor from drops in the subway, you can read about the quest line for the other 2 parts of the armor in this guide.
Note: All humanoid mobs from this point on are social, you attack one and they will all attack you, most also attack on sight. Higher level filth fleas (level 15-20ish) also will be found here, they drop the same loot as the weaker ones.

This next large room is divided across the middle by a trench full of water. Alright, you've made it to the final section of the Condemned Subway. Don't get too happy, because things are going to get harder from here to the end.
An point of interest in this area are some Carbonrich Rocks (QL 20-60), which is the very raw material used in the process of making a nano crystal. When you enter the large room with the trench and the Bloodcreeper on the far side, instead of immediately crossing to the other side, you will find the carbon rich rocks to either side of the entry hallway (as shown in the image below).

Carbonrich Rocks.
On the right side of the large room with the trench, you will find a passageway that leads down to a cave full of Slum Runners. Be careful in this area, as there are a lot of Slum Runners. I highly recommend you be with team of players 20+ to have a chance of survival here. Beyond the Slum Runners the second boss. Be aware that he is quite formidable and you will need a team of level 15-24 to take him on. Eumenides is a tough soldier, watch out for his burst special. He rarely drops an upgradeable (right-click it) NCU ring which has Treatment requirement to wear as well as Living Cyber Armor Sleeves.

Eumenides.
After the Bloodcreeper there will be more cyborgs and shadows. The third boss will be right after, guarded by two cyborgs. Vergil Aeneid is a tough nanomage, without a team he will be almost impossible to kill and he will attack you on sight. Be aware that some mobs will come to assist him even if you pull him away. From my experience the ones who will come to help him are Slum Runners and Filth Fleas. He rarely drops an upgradeable (right-click it) NCU ring which has Treatment requirement to wear.

Vergil Aeneid.
These are the regular mobs you will face in this area, the final area before the last room (also cyborgs that are listed from the previous area), with approximate level and the possible loot they may carry.
Name | Level Range | Loot |
Shadow | 15+ | Nothing worth anything. Monster Parts |
Workman Striker | 16+ | Drops Construction sleeves which are Engineer-only, requires Tutoring to use. Boosts some trade skills. |
Slumrunner | 18+ | Instant aggro |
Infector | 20+ | Nothing worth anything. Instant aggro |
![]() Infected Attendant | 20+ | Nothing worth anything. Instant aggro |
Uncontrollable Anger | 23+ | Nothing worth anything. Instant aggro |
Fragmented Soul | 20+ | Nothing worth anything. Instant aggro |
Premature Pattern | 20+ | Eleet doll, requires Intelligence and Bio Met to use. Boosts Matter Metamorphosis and Nano Initiative. Description is “U OWNZ ME". Chance of dropping Living Cyber Armor Helmet, Pants, or Gloves. Social aggro only with other Premature Patterns. |
![]() Redundant Scan | 20+ | Nothing worth anything. Instant aggro. Will run away when their health is low. |
Molested Molecules | 20+ | Chance of dropping Living Cyber Armor Helmet, Pants, or Gloves. Instant aggro |
Incomplete Rebuild | 20+ | Chance of dropping Living Cyber Armor Helmet, Pants, or Gloves. Instant aggro |
Melded Patterns | 24+ | Chance of dropping Living Cyber Armor Helmet, Pants, Gloves, or Sleeves. Instant aggro |
Neural Breakdown | 23+ | Chance of dropping Living Cyber Armor Helmet, Pants, or Gloves. Instant aggro |
![]() Lost Thought | 23+ | Nothing worth anything. Instant aggro |
![]() Bloodcreeper | 25+ | Nothing worth anything. Instant aggro |
You will find a few more cyborgs and at the last room a couple of Infectors guarding the boss' room. The room is pretty big, so you have space to maneuver and run away if you're alone, because Abmouth Supremus is impossible to fight on your own. You will need a team of 20+ with a well prepared doctor. I highly recommend that you also have other healer-type professions like Martial Artist or Adventurer in your team. An enforcer has the best chance to take the great damage he inflicts.

And below you will see a rare image of the big bad boss, which will probably be the last thing you see before you die if you're alone and that close to him (I know from experience).

Abmouth Supremus.
He rarely drops an upgradeable (right-click it) NCU ring which has Treatment requirement to wear. He also drops the Belt of Justice and Juggler's Treat (both around QL 30 range).
I do not know the exact drop rate of the NCU Ring the bosses drop, however I do know that they all do drop it.
There is an elite daily mission that involves killing various mobs in the subway.e with friends without being teamed, if the place is full you may end up in two instances of the dungeon, teams always get in the same instance.
