Old new player ?

Old new player ?

Post by castagere » Sun Aug 05, 2007 7:14 pm

I played this game years ago.(Before Shadowlands) i have two characters. One is a lvl 101 atrox enforcer and the other is a lvl 84 adventurer. I want to know if they are still worth playing? I intend to pretty much stay on rubi-ka. My enforcer uses a 2h sword from the melee smith and my adventurer uses jc pistols. Are these still good weapons or do i have to start camping for other weapon drops? I know the game has changed quite abit from my play days. So far it seems like everyone is using the same gear. Everyone used to look unique and use different weapons.

Define worth playing...

Yes, game has changed and indeed most players use same equipment (thus looking the same). With SL and even more with AI&LE, end game equipment isn't just some high ql gear. In the old days, one could go around without azure. Those days, gear really makes the difference (even at lower levels some gear is just too good to be passed), so players try to get it to stay on top of what FC throws at them.

As your questions about enforcer and advy...there really shouldn't be anything fundamentaly wrong with them. Some skills got more important and some less, but professions still have same focus in skills. But nontheless I would start new char, just to get a grip on changes should I be in your shoes. It gives you better perspective as well as option to try couple of things (better to scrap low level char as lvl 100 char, right?)

There's always the 'play them for sentimental purposes' option...

I'm quite attatched to my lvl115ish MA, she's fairly gimped but I'm slowly working that out, & she's nowhere near as dangerous as she used to be in the Temple, but I like her because she is my first character!!! 8)

Yes, i think you should start a new char and learn all over agian, you might be a little rusty now since u havnt played in years. I havnt played before SL came out, but im sure there have been a LOT of changes since then, like, i've heard your pets could weild weapons, but you can't anymore.

But anyway, not sure exactly what to say, just start a new char and learn the basics agian. but keep your old toons for later. like when you understand the game a lot more now with the massive amount of changes, you can fix them up (if broken/ gimp).

Good luck to you.
