whats the big deal?

AO is the main topic, but you can also talk about things like the latest console game you've played, web comics, movies, music, etc. as they pertain to your AO experience.

Well here is MY 2 cents. I'm no expert and it's been awhile since Economics 101 in college but.... I'm thinking it has to do with supply and demand. If you sell credits and rare items then eventually the market becomes flooded and the demand goes down. It's like conterfeits irl. Plus maybe they don't want people personally profiting off their game. I don't know if it was me I wouldn't give a #$%^ what you did with your credits and items but that's me. *shrugs*

Selling stuff in real

Well actually the problem is you get warehouses full of asians(not stereotyping just going by what happens in other games) being paid a bowl of rice a day camping every uber item in the game/bot farming/cred farming. This happens alot already. (lot's of people know at least one or two pure ebay toons) So it ruins peeps chances of getting that uber loot etc. Markets run dry (unless you go buy creds from some company with alot of rice and a big warehouse). The rule just gives Funcom the rights to shut these types of organizations down. Saving us the agrivation of having 2 full teams of lvl 220 peeps OD us everytime (and since they work on shifts 24/7 and have alot of backpacks, never leave as well)

I think a large part of it may be that ALL items in the game are, legally, owned by FC. That means that if you sell 500 mil credits, for $100, you are selling something legally owned by FC, for your own profit.

Selling something you don't own, isn't legal anywhere I know of......

Hmmm, interesting thought...
How about FC selling ingame stuff?

If they kept the prices down low, it would kill these farmers dead!
