AO is the main topic, but you can also talk about things like the latest console game you've played, web comics, movies, music, etc. as they pertain to your AO experience.

July 2023.
The above link is one of the very last WayBackMachine snapshots of the now deceased AO Froobs website. I used one of the tools at Archive.org to force the archive bots to record outgoing and internal links and update the site before it went down. You need an archive.org account to access the special “save page” function. It’s surprisingly functional. The waybackmachine downloaded some of the fan base made software and still serves it up.
You only need a email address to make an archive account. There are a lot of useful old websites stored on the waybackmachine. Rubi-Ka flora and fauna being one example.

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has heard from the domain owners since the AO Froobs website code failed back in November, 15 2017? I've not seen any info on their twitter of other social media sites
Would be a shame to lose all of that hard won player guides, advice and experiences.

Doesn't even look that damaged. Their provider probably just upgraded to a newer version of PHP on the server and some old command is not working anymore. It probably would be a quick fix...
Too bad they're not responding.

Hey guys. It's frustrating not knowing what the problem is. Maybe the domain owner is ill. Maybe he's been injured. Maybe he's a scientist stationed at McMurdo Reseach Station, Antarctica and one of his colleagues unearthed the remains of a sadistically violent polymorphing space alien -and then- after certain life threatening events at the MRS outpost barracks he was forced to use a flamethrower to kill the polymorphic freakbeast -and- in the process of immolating said beast-thing he inadvertently reduced the outpost to a burned-out smoldering hulk and subsequently froze to death.
Or he just doesn't care any more and now only curls and plays golf.

I'm not sure yet which of your version would be preferable... since both lead to the site not working, but still, good speculations!

No need to worry about AOU

There's a backup, and in worst case you could remove the "interactive" parts of the website and just turn all the guides into static HTML pages without much effort.
And aoitems and auno probably have been glitches, I can reach both sites fine as well.

It's possible to reconstruct AO Froobs from archive.org pages? I may try to do that.

You can't fully reconstruct dynamic content (sql/php) just by static (html) archive.
The only way to get AOfroob back is to get hand on whole content and host it well.

What’s up all. AOFroobs guy here. Not dead or ill. Just lazy. I’m willing to hand over the content if AOU wants to figure out how to utilize it. I sent a pm yesterday to your site manager. If someone wants to get back to me, let’s figure it out.

I am not sure that you are right in this case. And I think that the answer is near us, but if we will imagine this situation in reality, we will understand a lot about knowledge.
