What is there to do?

AO is the main topic, but you can also talk about things like the latest console game you've played, web comics, movies, music, etc. as they pertain to your AO experience.

What is there to do?

Post by AngelTerri » Tue Oct 14, 2008 4:22 am

... besides grinding missions and looking sexy as an Agent?

So far, everything i have read happens AFTER someone is level 182 (for the Aliens)

My husband and I just started playing AO about a week ago. We pretty much decided on our classes after trial and error =

Agent + Fixer for Omni
Keeper + Doctor for Clan

Beside the fact the maps kinda stink .. ugh we can't find anything in the Clan city ... we can't find anything to do!!!

Any help? Or are we stuck grinding missions and me yelling at my husband because he ran in front of me and died?

theres special dungeons through out the levels you can try (check the classic AO page of the Knowledge section on this site for the "encounters") that you can do, and when your at the higher levels for each of the dungeons you can easily do most of them as a pair (specially keeper/doctor)

could also look into doing the low level quests and such (never too early to start the alvin/dodga pad quests)

or just run around Rubi-ka looking for pretty things to pummel into submission/be pummeled into submission by (I do that alot)

also if your having problems finding things in clan cities, best best is to move over to Old athens while you get used to the game as its got the clearest lay out of the clan cities (although to be fair Tir is just a rectangle ?é?¼_?é?¼)

You could also look into doing the Jobe research questlines if you are still sub 50, those are nice for picking up a few items. The subway isnt a bad place for a few levels... and The Temple of Three Winds will teach you how to deal with people dragging a lot of mobs in your direction when you least want them to.

There is so much exploring, so many quests and so many ways you can learn about your profession and how to gain levels and equipment.. then you could perhaps think about joining an organisation so when you have questions you have a reliable group of people who you know will tell you the right answers!!

Good luck and please ask more questions here when you want to :)

I sujest downloading and installing the AORK 1.31 map if you're having problems looking for things, it has much more detailed information with regards to Dyna's, Instances, NPCs etc. There is also AOSK or spheremap for shadowlands.

AORK and Spheremap can be found in the download section of this site.

You didn't specify which server you're on...
Altantian (RK1)
Rimor (RK2)
DNW (german server (RK3))

If you're on Rimor, I can hook up with you & show you around anywhere, If you're on Atlantian, I can show you round anywhere Clan...

My husband and I play on Atlantean.

We are both paid, which bums cause all that stuff which we can't see or do yet.

We've found the subway but can't get far levelwise.

Is there a place you have listing quests? I'm so used to EQ2 where there are symbols above NPC heads who have quests. Here it's a guessing game ...

I think we got the maps. Though they show areas, don't help much on specific buildings, but can't have everything!

We joined an organization but since everyone is so high of a level they aren't nearby or I guess it's difficult to group with lower levels and not take exp away (used to mentoring in EQ2 ... meh)

All the quests can be found in the knowledge section of this site (classic AO for quests on RK etc)

Since your both paid you can also head into the shadowlands where you'll get plenty of XP and stuff to beat on just bear in mind that you dont get much cash there. There is however a series of low level quests (including the back yard quests) that are well worth doing
