Clicksaver

AO is the main topic, but you can also talk about things like the latest console game you've played, web comics, movies, music, etc. as they pertain to your AO experience.

Clicksaver

Post by Hogasha » Thu Nov 24, 2005 1:35 am

Hi, I'm trying to get Clicksaver to work.

I downloaded, unzipped, and supposedly installed it. Tried opening it, and it says I have to find the "AO directory."

It's not in my anarchy folder. Is this something I'm supposed to download?

Agaille's clicksaver guide http://www.marquentein.dk/clicksaver/setup.html doesn't cover this.

Thanks in advanced.

You just click Ok or whatever it does and select the directory. It opens something that you can lead it to your directory by opening the folders on your computer. Just select wherever your directory is and run it and if its the first time it usually has to make a new item database or whatever and that takes 1-5 mins (make sure to be out of AO while doing this) and then its good to go.

This is correct, it is not IN your Anarchy Folder, it IS your Anarchy Folder...

It means your Anarchy Online Root Directory...

Example:

C:Program Files/Funcom/Anarchy Online

But you may not have installed it in the default directory, this is why it asks you to find it (it's the easy way of doing it for the coder), for example mine is:

C:\Games\Funcom\Anarchy Online

Based on Agaille's guide, I first click "Ok" then select the directory. However, this is not the case. I start up Clicksaver, and a window simply pops up and tells me to find this folder. I have to select the folder first before I can click Ok. (wow, I must sound like such a computer n00b, which I'm not).

So I thought it would be obvious: the anarchy folder. Click....Okay...."This is not AO's directory." Program closes.

Also tried the same with the clicksaver folder. same. I don't know what other folder it could be, I've organized all my Anarchy files in one folder.

Thanks again for the fast responses.

Don't open the root directory, just select it... if you open it it is then looking for another folder or file in the root & missleading it's self.

It's still not working.

So weird. Anarchy directory should be the anarchy folder, but it says it isn't.

http://www.marquentein.dk/clicksaver/setup.html states that in the setup, I'm supposed to get this message that "The local AO items database is missing or outdated." I still haven't got that, still need to show that darn directory.

The site suggests to download the large client, but I have no intention of upgrading (and paying) until when I graduate from high school.

Is clicksaver simply a program not meant to work for froobs?

Hm... I wonder if that could be the case? I would think not though, I know froobs with Clicksaver. You don't need to have SL/AI/NW to have the large client, you could just download it if you felt like trying that option.

Interesting thought... That could be the problem, you don't need to upgrade to use the large client, it just has more crap in it to support the expansions (can't you tell I'm technical! )...

Grab the large client & you may sort out the problem...

I must admit, I don't know anyone that uses CS on the small client.

CS runs on the small client as well, a friend of mine with the small client ran it yesterday.
