The guide currently writes:

As you hunt for Visions, if you pick up Visions that are not for your profession, do not fret. Loot the vision and see the Exchange Officer of IPS to swap it for one for your profession.

However, as I discovered when preparing to hand in my T1 materials:

1. the Exchange Officer only accepts exactly three visions of the same type at a time, and crucially ...
2. on giving him three versions, he will only give you one of your profession's vision in return.

This was frustrating to discover so close to handing in my T1 materials, and I felt misled by the guide here. Especially as I'd left my profession's visions to decay on corpses, thinking that if I had 18 of them already, I wouldn't need any more.

I'd suggest making these points clearer in the guide; namely, the 3:1 exchange ratio, and that you need exactly three of the same vision type to make the exchange.

Please remember this site offers guides and while some are extensive, we are not a full-on step-by-step cheat site. Sometimes we lead players to things they might not ever know... such as the fact that you can actually trade unwanted visions and with whom, and where to get the ones you need. Not something readily known from within the game. Hopefully, we saved you a little bit of time in that regard.

We are sorry you feel misled. That is never our intent. This site is an all-volunteer group that takes time out of their day, and their game time to make your AO experience a bit better than having to learn about these things while trying to enjoy playing the game. However, some things may have been left for the player to figure out on their own.

Yes, some things are left out of the guides (more so the older ones), and many things have been changed in this game after the extensive list of guides was written. We worked hard to update and fix them when we found them. We are still working on them.

This guide isn't used as often these days, and no one has reported issues with the guide until now. Thank you for taking the time to point this out. I do feel this is a valid point and may be more helpful to add info on. Therefore, I have made a note in the guide and we will leave your comments for others to read.

Updated note that to reflect that to swap visions you must have three of the same visions to swap for one of your professional visions.
