Newbie question about newbie armor:) btw. possible exploit!!

AO is the main topic, but you can also talk about things like the latest console game you've played, web comics, movies, music, etc. as they pertain to your AO experience.

Newbie question about newbie armor:) btw. possible exploit!!

Post by Teo » Sun Jan 28, 2007 4:27 pm

Hi again!
As I stated in a previous post, i'm playing AO for about 2 weeks. Sorry if this question might seem unrelevant, simple, stupid, etc.

I'm lvl 14 Solitus Adventurer, and like many others I made the starting quests on ICC Island to earn the newbie armor. After when I joined OT (I read that it's better to join than to remain neutral) I bought the OT badges and upgraded every piece of armor.

Now, in Rome, I noticed that the QL of the armor pieces raised! As far as I remeber, they were QL5 when I received them; now some were QL9, some QL10. Moreover, the QL increases upon equipping and deequipping them!!! thus, by 4 cicles of equipping/deequipping I brought them to QL14, further improvement would lead in impossibility of wearing them, as wear and use requirements are level-related and increases as QL increase.

I wanted to report on Anarchy-Online Exploits section forum, but I play from a free acc and I'm not allowed to post.

So... it is normal? Should I use this 'feature' in the future or not?

FC only takes reports about exploits in form of email to exploits@....even if you /petition about it ingame, ARK will probably re-direct you to that adress.

But this is actually an feature. There are couple of "leveling" items ingame, probably next item you'll encounter will be Morphing memory from Subways. Such items all behave the same, r-clicking will increase their ql, not equip them. Ofc only if you'll meet skill requirement. Be carefull when you find leveling item with level or title req, since you can have skills to level it, but lack level or title to equip it then.

Tip of the day ;) : collect 3 or 4 Morphing memories when in Subway and carry them around (in backpack, without leveling). Since sooner or later everyone looses some item to closed overflow, this is a perfect solution (overflow is when you have full inventory and you get 1 more item...usually as mission or quest reward, sometimes because of tradeskilling, abourted trade, etc). Just get 1 morphing memory out of bag into inventory and r-click it to re-open overflow.
