Hi! Need help getting better performance.

AO is the main topic, but you can also talk about things like the latest console game you've played, web comics, movies, music, etc. as they pertain to your AO experience.

Hi! Need help getting better performance.

Hi! Just returned to AO after 5 years i think. The problem is that i get very poor FPS. Staying in starter island doing nothing gets me 7-8 fps. My PC is realy old (Pentium 3 933mhz, 512mb RAM, ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 64mb). My system is well optimized and the drivers are up to date. I know i don't have the best hardware by far but i remember playing fine on a 1ghz processor with the same gpu. Can anyone plz recommend me some tweaks so i can get to a decent framerate? Thx

(P.S.: I cant post this question on the official forums because i have a fr00b account)

You are pretty far behind, look to your graphics effects is about all I can say...

I tried different settings but the only one that can boost my fps to 15 is the view distance. The texture detail and the others give me 2-3 fps.

Edit: It was something in the graphics effects. Now i have 20-22 fps. Thx a lot!

Probably buffs, but to be honest, you could do with a larger processor... But have fun ^^

No sorry Sir, you need to upgrade your PC and it will cost you about 200.- bucks.
