Community - Auno updated to 18.8.53

Post by Saavick » Fri Aug 14, 2020 2:26 pm

The items database on auno.org has been updated to the current patch, 18.8.53.

Many thanks to Nadyita and Leite for creating the actual database dump and to Auno for updating the site with it, especially considering he no longer plays. It is much appreciated!

Auno is currently a few patches ahead of aoitems.com, so both sites complement eachother beautifully. AOItems does have the full patch history and an up to date nano listing, but auno has many useful comments.

AO-Universe supports using both sites in our guides, depending on your preference. You can select your preferences at the top of a guide like so:

You can also set your preferred link as default, if you are a registered user here.

Go to your User Control Panel, navigate to the "Profile" tab and select the appropriate "Item Links"-website you wish to use as a default.

Therefore i published a working DB extractor for Auno's need here https://github.com/bitnykk/adbd (finalized thanx to both Nad & Xyphos).

Btw, Saavick, would you happen to have a working DB extractor for more universal needs (e.g. SQL) ?
Not that i have immediate needs but it could still be usefull some day in the future ;)

Thanx in advance !

Nice work Bitnykk! And thanks for sharing your work too

I don't have a DB extractor tool myself I'm afraid :)

Gasp ... all i had working is now totally out of date.

Really have to check what Mawerick's or even Tyrence's had.

Or ask Nadyita maybe, he provided auno with the db. Or am I misunderstanding?

Think he provided raw files, but then Auno has another util to dump toward db (aoppa > pgSQL) that i didn't manage to compile so far.

Nad used a wined image of windows under linux to complete the extraction, which won't help me.

By now i only made the raw file extractor work, would need to be able to SQL it anyhow ...

Finally had aoppa working fine by editing/compiling it through a nux vbox.

Resulting app parses like a charm, so far i only tested the XML on nanos, worked fast & well.

Think i'll publish another git fork for people looking for such a working solution.

Our own internal items database (used for linking to those external sites) has been updated as well, thanks to Demoder. :top:
