I've added a section with suggested filters to the guide, with examples on how to block the (current) common cred seller domain names.

I've also added a link the original Friday with Means post in the footer.

Will I need to do this for every toon or just once on each account?

As far as I can remember, any chat related settings are character bound. So you'd have to do it for every new character.

They're actually shared between all characters across all accounts

If you have a second AO installation, e.g. new engine and old engine, you'd have to redo the filters there though.

Thank you for all of the input. I added a filter for the latest spammers to a few toons in the first few hours of play time and within a day I haven't seen any spam from him/her across all accounts. I'm thinking that it may have took a day for the filter to spread across all accounts or until I had logged off for the day.

Just a little update to add the latest cred seller to the filter list
