Clicksaver difficulties.

AO is the main topic, but you can also talk about things like the latest console game you've played, web comics, movies, music, etc. as they pertain to your AO experience.

Clicksaver difficulties.

Post by bozpayen » Mon Mar 15, 2010 4:59 am

I am a returning player and have taken the time to read several guides on the various classes to try and get back into the game without pestering people with useless questions. Almost all of the guides I have read mention Clicksaver and so I went to the site and downloaded it. After reading the readme file and starting Clicksaver this is what happens:

I get a window that says "The local AO items database is missing or outdated"
It then goes on to tell me what it plans to do about it. Basically itis going to generate it's own database.
At the bottom of this window are 3 buttons labelled Continue, Skip and Quit.

Hitting Continue gives me this message "Failed to create local database"
Hitting Skip gives this message "Couldn't open local database"
and of course Quit is obvious. as it is I can't get Clicksaver to run.

Funcom changed the way the database works, it's now two files rather than one (apparently), the old clicksavers don't accept this new form of file system...

The question here is: Which version do you have?

The answer is: Get version 3... And well, I'm pretty sure someone will post a link in the near future.

This bugged me for ages, and a new version worked out just fine (and it's been updated with new features too!!!)

edit/
Actualy, WHY don't we have version 3 here???

We only have the Open source version of clicksaver on AOU. That will be the way it stays.

You can download it from the downloads section.

Clicksaver version 3, maintained and distributed by Kimi at http://arpa3.net/anarchy-online/

I am using Windows 7 64-bit and this works a treat with AO, some of the features Kimi has added are really handy.
