Hello, I am currently playing on a free account. I used to play this game years ago so I decided to try it back out. I am really liking the game and want to upgrade to paying with all expansions but I have an issue that is making me unsure.
I get the blue screen of death in missions and statics like sub, TOTW. If I remember correctly this occurred back in a patch back when I used to play and funcoms lack of fixing it was one of the reasons I quit playing.
After all these years there still isnt a fix for this problem....or am I missing something? If this is the case I am definetly not going to upgrade and quit playing again.
I sent an email to tech support about this issue but no response as of yet.

It might help if you posted your system specs and your OS. I haven't seen an actual BSOD on any game in years. Does the game simply crash out? Or do you actually get a blue screen with an error code? Because this behavior doesn't occur for the vast majority of players, it probably has something to do with your system.

We had the blue screen of death in the same situations on our old system. Missioning was usually best avoided at all costs because of it!
As soon as we got the computer sorted out (i.e. got a complete new system <3) the BSODs vanished.. it was absolutely nothing to do with the patch version.
If it happened in a patch back when you used to play and havent upgraded your system since then, I would imagine even more so that this is quite likely to be the cause.

Well there were alot of people having this problem and like the others that had this problem ao is the only game that causes this problem on this system. That is why I didnt list my specs. I believe it is something in the code that is incompatible with particular hardware. More particularly I believe it to be a soundcard incompatibility. I have read about people turning music and all sounds off and not getting the crash. I turned music off and since then havnt had it happen in a mission. It still happens in ToTW however. I notice it always happens in ToTW following a cultist making a dying sound or hurt sound from being hit. So I could most likely turn sound fx off and be ok there too but I really hate playing with no sound period.

Post your comp specs anyway, particularly your graphics card & sound card details...
There is an issue with some graphics cards I believe still...
