IM making an MP and i have some questions

I was wondering is not having a weapon realy gonna bite me in the butt l8er in the game? i have the noob island shield but i dont use it i just cast magic. I always have enought ip to fill all my skills that r important with like 32000 left over so i have enought to start using a weapon.
I was also wondering, i was talking to people on the ooc were saying i could get a awsome pet at lvl 12 with ql 50 implants but how can that be if ql 50 implants take 104 intel? Im lvl 23 and i still cant wear ql 50 implants even with the plus 12 buff.
and a little of topic how much would it cost me to upgrade my acount witha year subscription?

1st... Basicaly, the skills you should be putting IP into are:
1/ The skills you need to cast your pet...
2/ All your basic abilities (to get better imps in)...
3/ Computer Literacy (to get better NCUs in)...
After that you might think about a weapon, or possibly evades...

2nd... Yes you can get lvl50 imps in, it's all about 'Imp Stacking'... It's when you use one imp to buff putting the next imp in... (dont' ask, I'm crap at it)... but you better have the cash to do it, it can get expensive...

3rd... Check your Accounts page, it will tell you how much it will cost to upgrade & the monthly subscription...
However, keep looking for E-Mails from Funcom, they often (& I mean very often) have offers to upgrade for either free or for a cut down price...
However, look for the offer that says 'upgrade to all we have' rather than the 'upgrade to Shadowlands' the Shadowlands one doesn't give you Alien Invasion.
