Heck, the merc groups can even offer the lower-level froobs as cannon fodder. It's a cool, RP way to make money for the Froobie set.

I'll give it a shot -- going through Rome, that is. I had assumed, reading the AOU guide, that it was an avenue only open to Omni folk. Still, I can only get killed once, right?

Temple of the Three Winds

You all have probably been here and done that, but I'm looking to get to the Temple of the Three Winds. My luck in Tir has run out, so every time I try to get out the West Gate I get my head handed to me by a Clanner NPC. I've tried sneaking in the back way, through the Varmint Woods to Tir County, ...

I have no idea how the game mechanics would work out, or even if they would, but I could see Omni hiring neutral mercs to fight the Clans and guard stuff, and vice versa. If it worked it could be really cool in terms of roleplay.

Actually, it might be kind of fun to get the Froobs organized. Nuetral Froob teams could offer their services as mercs to Clans or Omni, depending on the highest bidder. Anyone ready to form "The Fighting Froobs" mercenary group?

As for me, I've been working and opening Christmas presents. But I'm all up and excited about the forum.

Begging like that is kind of crass, if you ask me. Do your own work!

I suppose I could adopt 50's motto -- "Get rich or die trying" -- but I'm playing to have fun. I'm not going to stress out if I have to buy my armor at the Gap and my weapons at Wal-Mart. Wear a trench coat and no one can tell that your armor doesn't match.

Hmmm .... I've run around Tir many a time and not been shot. I'm a nuetral, so what am I doing right/wrong?

Seems like inflation run amuck. Not that I am complaining ... much. I had 100,000 saved up once upon a time, but then blew most of it on upgrading my implants. 45,000 for a "cast off" level 39 weapon .... C'est a little crazy, if you ask me. Which you didn't.

That's kind of embarassing. My character is broke, but at least he has his pride. And hanging lanterns in his Newland City apartment. Just for kicks, Fellow Froobs, what game obstacles have y'all run into because of your "freeloader" status. It's tough enough to play a nuetral in the game, are their...

I'll bite. Is it really true that some FrOObs run around begging for money and items from established players? What the hell is up with that? AO is a game, right? And the point is to make your way up the food chain with your own work. Or am I missing something? I'd no more consider harassing another...

And it may turn out that we have a lot to say. I'm Donnerjak, a level 30-something neutral soldier on the Atlantean server. I tend to play at odd times and probably would not be doing the AO thing if I had to pay. Maybe. My first online roleplaying deal was the text-based Modus Operandi. I bailed ou...
