in the existing guide

It says u add the "Solar-Powered Pistol" ---> to the "Stable Preservation System".
But it seems you can add "Stable Preservation System"---> "Solar-Powered Pistol".

This means the notum chip doesn't have to be low quality.
You can test this out for yourself, (good procedure to have anyway)
If you update the guide, feel free to delete this thread.
