Introduction

While this quest is not strictly required to obtain Spec 1, it offers a reliable alternative to the randomness associated with farming for individual pages. During our initial completion of this quest, we acquired books 1, 3, and 4 within the 30 kills required, making this a more efficient method for obtaining Spec 1.

This quest is not repeatable and appears to be available only if your character has not yet completed the Spec 1 turn-in. It has been tested and confirmed that the quest remains available for characters up to level 51.

Starting the Quest

The quest giver,
Professor Dedlock
Jobe Harbor - 175.0x410.0
, is located inside the Independent Professionals Society building in Jobe Harbor. Depending on your faction, you will have a different objective.

For Clan Players:

Objective: Kill 30 Tempterus.
The quest provides a waypoint on your map at
Papageno's Paradise
Nascense Frontier - 650.0x1275.0
.

There are approximately 17 Tempterus in the Papageno's Paradise area. Clan players will not receive credit for killing Hai-Tempterus. You will need to wait for respawns to complete all 30 kills. Upon killing 30 Tempterus, the completed book, "The Mariner's Father," will spawn in your inventory.

For Omni Players:

Objective: Kill 30 Hai-Tempterus.
The quest provides a waypoint on your map at
Papagena's Paradise
Nascense Frontier - 950.0x1270.0
.

There are approximately 30 Hai-Tempterus in the Papagena's Paradise area. Omni players will not receive credit for killing Tempterus. Upon killing 30 Hai-Tempterus, the completed book, "The Mariner's Father," will spawn in your inventory.
