Notum Saturated Metaplast Armor
Faction: All Factions
Level: All Levels
Quicklink (copy this):
This NT-only armor is one of the most expensive sets out there. As usual, the reason behind this doesn't lay in the benefits it brings, but in the problem of obtaining the parts. The main building component is Notum Saturated Metaplast Shell, which drops from only 3 sources. The lower QL ones can be obtained from small underground robotic mobs, usually referred to as Mole Robots (they also go by the names of Shovelet, Diglet, Scooplet) and are found in Aegean, Broken Shores, Clondyke and Pleasant Meadows. They drop QL 40 to 90 shells, but the droprate is very low. The second type of mob that drops QL 140 to 200 shells are Hollow Island Brood Champions. Besides being raid mobs, they don't have good droprate either, but it's better than Moles. The third source of shells is from the Collector, in QL 200 only. While demand for the shells is low, the poor drop rate can make them valuable.
Bonus tip: agents using false profession can wear this armour.
Besides 7 shells (if you aim for a full suit), you'll also need the following:
The first step consists of etching the shells:
Requires 3x the QL of the shell in Computer Literacy and 4.5x in Chemistry.
You can then either use a Screwdriver or a Mass Relocating Robot (Shape Hard Armor) for the last step, but with the Screwdriver you'll need more skill.
Requires 4.5x the QL of the pattern in Mechanical Engineering and 2.5x in Electrical Engineering.
Or with a screwdriver:
Requires 6x the QL of the pattern in Mechanical Engineering and 5.5x in Electrical Engineering.
