This guide gives you the way to create your personal Improved Solar-Powered Pistol, often referred to as Engi Pistol. By no means this shall tell you that it's only usable by Engineers! However since there are some quite high tradeskills involved this pistol is most often used by Engineers.Faction: All Factions

Mainly the reason is that each weapon apart of the Master version is level-able, meaning you can upgrade each pistol by right-clicking it untill a certain quality level is reached. The leveling ability requires you to have a certain (buffed) Weapon Smithing skill, increasing with the quality level of course.
Sadly the Solar-Powered Pistols are all nodrop, so you can't pass it on to someone else for the tinkering. Additionally most intermediate products are also nodrop, only the hacked items and the Notum Threaded Backpack are not so you can ask someone else with enough Break & Entry skill for help.
For easier reading the guide is divided into the 6 main upgrades, each sub-topic including drop location of the parts required and of course the process itself.

b) Solar-Powered Mender Pistol
Quality Level: 40-99
Items required:

| Tech-Scavenger Robotic monster, most common hunt area is an acidlake in Newland Desert, also the Tech-Scavenger for example at the junkyard east of Old Athen or near Live Metal in Greater Tir County drop them. Quality level requires to be at least 90% of the Bio Analyzing Computer. Since the QL of the Bio Analyzing Computer varies, it's easier to find it at the according quality level. | |

Be aware that this last pistol will have a Title Level 6 requirement, so you won't be able to get it on a character which isn't at least level 190.
