Newer Enfo guide,

AO is the main topic, but you can also talk about things like the latest console game you've played, web comics, movies, music, etc. as they pertain to your AO experience.

Newer Enfo guide,

Post by oxsie » Mon Oct 07, 2013 7:59 pm

Hey all, I have a 207 enf that just sucks at everything he does... I was wondering if someone had a newer Enfo guide explaining armor/weapon options, symbs, etc. Would really appreciate it! thanks!

I wouldn't know about a newer guide, but the obvious questions are:

1. What breed?
2. What weapon type? (1he, 1hb, 2he, 2hb)
3. What type of Enf do you want to be? (DD, Team Tank, Raid Tank)

Symbs are easy, it's infantry or nothing...

If you have Lost Eden, make sure to get enough VP together for the Attunement Devices. They'll help amazingly with any twinking you need to do.

I have all exspansions, and have already bought those. Any info will help a lot! Any items I should need and what not. at 207, what armor/weapons should I have on? I have a full goddess set on mainly for the evades right now. Can't afford any combined mercs yet.

A quick check seems to point out armor from the Collector instance in Pandemonium being the way to go. Sadly our guide on that is missing some key things and hasn't been published.

Everything I've read or been told so far would say go 2he or 1hb for a raid tank...
2he has all sorts of buffs and bonuses for it, 1hb does good damage and being 2 handed, does an extra taunt...
Don't be tempted to go 1he/1hb, this is a PvP setup and would take IP away from where you need it.

Other than that, as a raid tank, EVERYTHING relies on you being able to take and absorb damage, so as much HP and absorbs as you can get... Forget about being a 'big hitter' so long as you're doing reasonable damage and are using your mongo and single taunts, you should be good.

Just keep looking out for things to improve your HP and stuff like that.

If you want, I could log my Enf for you to have a look at, his Symbs ain't that great, but he can still tank Pande/APFs/and whatever else he needs to, the only thing he has problems with is 12man, and that's simply because if he gets morphed, he has to drop the big essence to be able to move lol, that will be sorted out with more Runspeed in his symbs when I upgrade.
My Enf is 2he, my girlfriend is bringing up a 1hb tank, I'm interested to see how it goes.

A DD Enf does just that, it's not for tanking with (unless you get agg), it's just for doing damage...
A Team Tank does a bit of both, does decent damage and tanks in missions and such...
A Raid Tank is all about the BIG stuff (Ipande, APFs & so on), it's all about survivability and the ability to agg large numbers of mobs and absorb their damage in a way that still allows a Doc to keep them alive, DD is a completely secondary concern...

P.S. There's also a PvP Enf option, of which I know nothing about...
