press SHIFT and \

or press f10, got to GUI>Control Center and switch on any of the unchecked boxes.

If you can get a chat window up, you can also type /script APanel to get AriensGUI back up and switch it back on there

I know this doesn't help you now (& I'm about as technical as a... well, snake), but, we are looking into making the screenshot mode timed, so it reverts back to previous settings automaticaly...

Ok, not an ideal way of fixing it.. but I just clicked the "clear screen" button -- and only found this way of getting things to be playable again.

1. Log out and note what the time is.

2. Go through your character folders in your account folder and find the one that relates to this character (the prefs file ALWAYS gets updated each time you log out, so finding the one with todays date and the time you logged out will confirm its the right character -- unless you know your character ID numbers off by heart! )

3. Rename your prefs file by putting a one after it or something.

4. Log back in.. you will get all your panels back, but you will have to re set up your back pack names / hot bar icons etc.

I am sorry I have no idea how else to work around this issue, I had no idea it was an issue until you posted... and to be quite honest, it best be fixed dead fast else I might have to get my extremely pokey poke stick out on one of our team members :)

Hope this work around helps short term.

This method will work, even if you have loged off in between.
Method 3 will always work, even if you have uninstalled the AOU mod

---1---
Shift-C
Doubble-click the name of the chat window you want to open.
Type
/AOU_mod\AriensGUI\Scripts\MenuOn.aa

---2---
Shift-C
Doubble-click the name of the chat window you want to open.
Type
/apanel
Click "Restore Hotbars and minibar"

---3---
Shift-C
Doubble-click the name of the chat window you want to open.
Type
/option cc_control_center 1
/option cc_section1 1
/option shortcutbar_window 1
/option friends_window 1
/open "Default Window"

Solved :D
even after you are loged off.

Kind Regards
Ariensky

PS. I am currently working on a new version, where it automatically will restore after 60 seconds (and only in the "Tips on how to restore chat-windows" have the "permanent" one)
