Couple of Guide Changes

Post by Llie » Wed Aug 10, 2011 4:30 pm

Recently decided to start a new toon and run the start-up quests. Discovered a few things apparently have changed.

Under the clan start-up quests, for Inventor Bobic's quest currently reads:
Visual T.R.A.C. Scanner drops of Mutilated Claw-C22, there is small camp of them east of Bobic's location.

Brain Module X349 is hardest to find, it drops of Mutilated Eye-Q93. For your troubles, Bobic rewards you with a Notum Hood of Bobic, 1000 xp and 4000 credits. The hood buffs intelligence, so it's a good item to keep.
Recently did this quest, and found that Brain Module X349 drops off the Mutilated Claw-C22 and the T.R.A.C Scanner drops off the Mutilated Eye-Q93, which makes the T.R.A.C Scanner the hardest to find, but not because of drop rate, but because those Mutilated Eye-Q93 mobs are annoyingly hard to find. They can be found scattered about in the Southwestern region of Tir County south of the crater farm and also near the boundary of the zone.

Regarding the Nodda Gregg quest, I think it is important to suggest players look for Minibrontos in the Southwestern region of Tir County and Young Brontos in the middle forested part of Greater Tir County. The levels at which these two pieces of armor are most useful also means that hunting for brontos in Ageean or Newland Desert will likely result in death. The Minibrontos in Tir County are below level 9 and the Young brontos in Greater Tir County ranged from 18-25 with no dangerous and few aggressive mobs nearby.

High Commander Brock seems to have removed his helmet. While running around Tir County doing the bulk of the start-up quests, it is unavoidable that clan players will get ganked by low level OT mobs. A note should be added that players should collect up 10 grunt dog tags and link to the Tir Rings quest. Might as well get your first ring while farming for Bobic's items or for Bronto meat.

Living Cyber Armor mission: The quest locations for the Body Armor are now randomized. It no longer sends you into Old Athen and Biomare for the 2 parts of the quest. The locations seem randomized now with the first one usually ending up somewhere in Stret West Bank, and the other in Athen Shire. The mission locations still sometimes sends clan players into omni guarded outposts and vice versa. Simply delete the mission, and talk to the Party Mixer again.

Also DO NOT chain the quest for gloves and boots (ie. accept both quests at the same time) hoping to save time and deliver all the items to Sarah Winters in one shot. They conflict with each other and as a result Sara Winter will not accept the banded ring, and you will not receive the gloves. It's not terribly important, as the gloves also drop in the Subways.

I still think that "Daily Mission: Eavesdropping" guide should include the option of completing this mission on high concealment characters by sneaking up to the platform and back down. The "hard proof" is quite interesting.

Should be all set now. Sorry it took a while! That was right around the time the site revamp started picking up steam and things got crazy ;)
