If my Avast! is running, I cannot see any images in your guides. They are blocked. If I deactivate it, the site shows images.
FYI.

With Avast it's possible to block some websites, like advertising.
Check the advanced settings for url blocking in the web shield.

Just add the site to your white list... That will sort it.

Did you try contacting Avast about this yet? It seems to be a false positive. I've had another report from an Avast user ingame that's having similar issues.

Taking this from my German version of Avast... so might be called differently in English....

l-click on the "a" icon in your task bar, that should open your Avast On-Access Scanner. Click on the Web Security Provider on the left side and you see Provider Configuration top right.
Hit Customize (or something like that) to open your Settings. Another window should open with 5 tabs, one being exceptions. Edit: Go to the exceptions tab and... Add the AOU home url to the list of urls that should not be watched.
This is not the most secure way to make this site working, but it does work in case you want the highest security provided by Avast.

Reason you have to do this work around is that the pictures are loaded from our Gallery instead of "hardcopy" in our guides etc. Avast thinks it's an external popup or whatever and will stop your browser loading the screenshots.

Hope this solved your problem.

Nio

HI.
I have added an Exception for your site already there. But it does not work.
I have contacted Anwil Software about this and after some mail exchanges with the Support they had to forward it to 2nd Level Support since there seems to be a problem 1st Level was not able to solve..

@Nio
I am German too :)

It's not too weird that 1st level support can't fix things. They normally only work as a filter to sort out those people that clearly haven't read the manuals, forgot to plug the power cord in and stuff like that. Any real problem always gets handed off to second or third level.

Thanks for getting in contact with them! Hopefully that will benefit all the users of Avast that have similar problems.

The images of the guides are loaded either from http://www.ao-universe.com/ or (more likely) from http://static.ao-universe.com/
(check the image urls to see)

Maybe that domain is getting blocked by your software.

Your problem appears to be different from mine... still I had the same effect of Avast blocking any picture.

Have you entered ao-universe.com to your white list or with the www.-prefix... or even http://www.-prefix? Might be that a www.-prefix restricts our gallary still....
Upon entering ao-universe.com to my white list I haven't had a problem while having highest security settings (yes, I'm afraid of pretty much everything from the www... too many jerks out there).

However the Avast support should give you feedback what may be your problem!

Nio

ps: woah! Even www. gets hyperlinked automatically... didn't expect that :)
pps: Remaining English since you appear to understand it well and keep others updated on things happening here ;)
