Low Level Encounter: Temple of the Three Winds

Post by OlowNon » Sat Dec 10, 2005 6:26 am

This guide only describes how to approach TotTW for Omni's and Clan. What about neutrals (since we get attacked in and around Tir)?

Also, what level (more or less) do you need to be to do the various sections solo?

And can you stay in TotTW past level 60 as long as you don't leave or die? Is there an upper limit?

Minor typos

Post by OlowNon » Sat Dec 10, 2005 6:43 am

I've found the following typos in this guide:

1. If a level 20 character found an escourt to this area and got an Exarch Robe, he would be a very well armored level 21 character!

Should be "escort"

2. Now if you took the middle path after the Defender of the Three, you will encounter more cultists (there is an army of them in this crazy temple) and a few interesting mobs. One of them being Windcaller Yatila, who hold a nano which an MP may want to have.

Should be "holds"

3. As you maye your way you will encounter a few weak undead (yes, animated skeletons) that seem to be under the control of The Re-Animator.

I assume this should be "make"

4. Not only that, she will not like visitors and will even cast a nano on you to turn you into a skeleton! (no worries, it wears off).

Add the word "will"

5. Next you will face more undead skeletons, but unless the previous small and weaker skeletons...these are no pushovers.

I assume this should be "unlike"

6. These Ju-ju Dolls won't be a great threat if you and your friend focus on taking down Lien (since the vanish when he dies).

I assume this should be "friends"

If Neuts have a yalm or can run fast, you can still grid in, with a yalm just go orbital as soon as you grid in, the grid exit is south of the city but there may be guards...
Also, what level (more or less) do you need to be to do the various sections solo?
That will easily become apparent, watch the ppl around you & get a team...

Yes, if you don't leave or die, you can stay in the temple, I think the 'auto-kick out lvl' is 70, however, if you are in a low GS & you log out, it's possible that when you log back in the GS will be full & you will appear outside the front door...

Neutrals can use Omni way too, paying Cerrak 1k for that key and using the portal next to him

Thanks for the tips! For those of us w/out a yalm, is going via a land route viable (if we don't want to risk the grid exit -- I've already been killed once that way)?

Also, what does GS mean?

GS=GroupSelector

Most indoor areas like dungeons and shops have multiple instances...It means that if you enter one building just a min behind friend while unteamed, you can land in totally different area, while surroundings stay the same. (Bleh, this sounds more complicated as it is...basicly it means you can't see your friend).

To see in which GS you are, press shift+F9...within all the info there will be something like "GroupSelector=2"
"War may be Hell....but it's good for business!"

To prevent overcrowding in certain areas after a given number of ppl enter an area the game spawns a copy of that area which then fills up & another is spawned & so on...

Teamed players always end up in the same GS as each other...

Just read the totw guide, nice work, but no mention of Gartua the Doorkeeper except in the loot table?
