Hello, I downloaded Anarchy Online about three days ago and every time I try to play it always says down server. I did everything that the tech support said to do, enabled TCP protocols and disabled firewalls. I also patched it to 16.0.0 but when I try to download the 16.2.3 patch the site won't work. This is the first time that I have ever tried playing a mmo game. I also downloaded some other mmo's to see if they had the same problem and they did. Can somebody please help me?

Are you sure you have firewalls disabled? Beside third-party programs, also something like the windows firewall as well (comes with service pack 2).
Are you connected to the internet through a router or a proxy-server maybe? If this is the case, this one might block the port the game uses to find/connect to the servers.

Yes, I have disabled all firewalls and I am using a wireless router.

What AV program are you runing? I know I had some problems with Panda, since I disabled all outgoing connections (automatic ones). Since I started "anarchyonline.exe" and that in turn started "client.exe" (what actually gets you connected to server), I needed to enable conection in Panda for this program. And since Panda monitors for recent changes, I had to allow it after each patch.

Are you a froob or did you already check the Tech forum?
If you can search on the AO forum, you may find something useful in there - of maybe even contacting - suggestions shown in this thread here (

I already checked the Tech Help forum and found nothing. There was something about if you have a shared connection then you should try to run the game on the main computer, but it still wont work on the main computer. There were some instructions on how to fix problems on a LAN connection but nothing for a Local Wireless Network.
