Hey all, I'm totally new to the Anarchy Online game, for some reason I cannot sign in on the official forums but w/e.

I'm 19 from the North West of Uk. ingame [Ahmadinejad]
As i said this is new for me so I'd like to introduce myself to everyone and I was wondering if anyone has some essential tips n trick's for me.

Its currently installing on my Pc downstairs I was thinking of starting off as a Soldier and get the hang of the basics first and If anyone has any 'Apprentaships' going in the game / clan's I'd be happy to join in and give you a hand etc. Peace out looking forwards to my stay here on this site and in the Game. - Andy. 8)

please add me on xfire if you have it, I'd like to get a few people from AO on my list to banter with / join games etc.

I'd personaly suggest a Solitus Martial Artist to learn the game with (don't have to bother about weapons).

Light Green /// Dark Green /// Light Blue /// Dark Blue...
Light Green skills cost least Improvement Points (IP) Dark Blue cost most... (gives you an idea of where you should be spending them...

CLAN is better than Omni or Neutral (but that's just my opinion (I'll get flamed for it soon)).

Loot EVERYTHING that isn't nailed down to sell in shop terminals for cash (don't be a loot whore in teams tho).

Other than that, AO is a STEEP learning curve, it's complex, but just take your time & get used to it...

Enjoy... ^^

hmmm flame grilled snake

Omni rules all!

I would spend as much time as you can on the starter island and not worry too much about getting to the mainland as fast as possible, as it will be like taking your first swimming lesson in the middle of the Pacific ;)

If I remember rightly you will probably get a visit from an ARK (Advisor of Rubi-Ka), who will give you a warm welcome and will help you through any initial questions you will definitely have.

You can also check out the guides here, which are very very useful indeed (note to self: use more verys)

Have you bought the expansions, or are you playing for free?
Free players dont get access rights for posting on there.

Cheers for the reply's lads, I started before as my first character i chose soldier just to get the hang of things, as soon as i logged in theese two russian guys let me join there team, killed a few creatures and the main guy bought me the assault rifle nano pack which i was very grateful for =]

i'm just running about getting used to it and doing some missions, hope to see you on it in the future...

i'm going to check out guides etc now
and yeah i'm only using the free version to start then most likey buy the expansions for this other pc for the better graphics,

On the launcher there is a setting button, in the first tab is the visual settings which has a resolution drop down menu there.

If you have any questions when you have had a poke about in the guides, or other questions in general - please ask!! :)

Expansion stuff doesn't mean better graphics. Ok, you get slightly better surroundings in Shadowlands, but until FC doesn't launch graphic upgrade you're stuck with ancient graphics regardless of being paying player or froob.

What i meant was i have it installed my pc downstairs which has a very old gfx card, dx9, low ram, etc. and it sloppy on performance.

and my pc upstairs is a top of the line custom build by my older brother that i have Crysis, Cod, Ut3 running smoothly.

even if you play on a better graphics machine, it will not get any better, you may be able to run on a higher resolution.
If I remember correctly, AO is DX7 engine, so the DX9 is plenty.
