cultral references....

AO is the main topic, but you can also talk about things like the latest console game you've played, web comics, movies, music, etc. as they pertain to your AO experience.

Ive found some of the shadowland zones names are based on myths.

Narsence: orignal FC idea

Elysium: The "afterlife" for heros and children of Zeus in early greek myths.

Scheol:Underworld

Adonis: greek cult fugure

Penumbra:not based on myth names but rather the part of a shadow where the light source is only partially blocked.

Infereno:Dante's version of hell/Tarturus

nascence

noun

The initial stage of a developmental process: beginning, birth, commencement, dawn, genesis, inception, nascency, onset, opening, origin, outset, spring, start. See start/end.

So basically, Start of SL ;)

Omnis vs Clans is simular to Empir vs Rebels in star wars.

Only difference is non of the sides are truly evil in AO. Lucas intended Empire to be evil.

But things are different in the SL.

the redeembles are like the light side.

the unredeembles are like dark side.

And FC gave info that they have good/evil bounds.

The portals in SL are like Stargates........well a couple of them.

The Brink mobs are based on these creatures from myths:

Hecklers: Heckate, greek godess of witchcraft

Horrors:unknown

Hydre:Hydra

There seems to be demonic creatures in the SL. This inculdes the brink creatures.

According to the dead AO site faunlore they were Xan cratures somehow corrupted by the source.

They just destroy destroy everything in their path.

So......they are a reference to the Burning Legion in Warcraft univese.

A Abadonnite corrupted by the Source lies in the middle of pande raid.

It is the beast and is is a reference to Sargeras(The leader of the legion) and the beast from the bible.
Also zodiac bosss:the zodiac creatures
