If AO's gonna survive this should happen....................

Nowadays compared to WoW and LOTR:online AO sucks.

However there are some things they should consider to make them get more people:

1. Open rubi ka's playfields!!!!!!!!!!!

There are areas in rubi-ka that cannot be accsibled. However to let AO last they should open up the playfields. With legacy of the Xan it could happen but only time will tell..................

2.Dismantle the LV locks

There are some areas(subway, Narsence, TOTW, Foremans, and COH) that restricts players from entering that zone at a specfic level.

My opnion is.......:destroy the locks!!!!

I know the reason that they lv lock.To prevent a high level player from making the dungeon not fun for others. But there is a way to overcome that.......

a.every dungeon should have a base level that players are reccomanded to be for that dungeon. If you're below that base level than you will get sent to the dungeon at that base level(if the base level is 25 and you are lv 2 you will go to base lv 25.).

b. The base level will have a lv lock level for example: 25-60.

c. But then......At the lv lock level you will get teleported to a stronger version of the dungeon (If you get kicked out of a lv 60 cap dungeon you will get sent to the next base level instance of the dungeon..Level 60-100!! And if you get kicked out of that... it's off to lv 100-150 and finally lv 150-200 but you can still visit dungeon after lv 200.)

d.Without lv locks the game will feel less linear and will attract more people.)

Narsence should not have a base at all(the lv lock should still be dismantled)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a playfield not a dungeon. If that happens than the dragon lord of the void finally be dethroned.

3. Better graphics.

The graphics should be patched to be next-gen. Fortunly FC's planning that soon.

4.Starting area.

All players should start on a space station and even high lv chars can come there from specfic transports. newbs should go to newb island by space pods that vets cant go in. Credit for this idea goes to Windkeeper(who was windgueerd) as he sugessted that idea in http://www.ao-universe.com/main.php?site=articles&id=30. We also made sure it isn't like SWG in ways. There is no space flight in my suggestion.

Apples and oranges. WoW and LotR are fantasy MMOs. Anarchy Online, while having a lot of fantasy elements, is Sci-Fi/Space Opera. I personally think that Anarchy Online is better, in terms of art direction, style, and game mechanics. The graphics are lacking, the crafting is recipe-based, and the grind is tedious, but the same can be said of other popular games as well.
2.Dismantle the LV locks

The level locks on special content are an unfortunate consequence of choosing a level-based system for advancement. The Dungeons are level-locked for a reason. I do not enjoy level locks, but I do not enjoy high level characters swooping in and camping a boss in a dungeon that was clearly meant for low level players. It's like those crazy statics in SL. Foreman's used to not have a level lock, and the Director was camped 24/7, making it difficult for anyone to get their CDRs unless they have friends in high places. The level ranges are meant to be a nidus for similarly-leveled characters to get together and form teams. ToTW is a bit jarring when you have crazy high level folks entering Inner Sanctum just beside it. And the Crypt of Home is definitely NOT a fun place to be in, with 220s running around training monsters and killing all of the Cenobite Shadows.

Also, Nascence has a level lock? I don't ever remember hearing that. I know that Jobe Research, the "SL newbie island", has one.

Yep i know so my suggestion is that the Lv locked dungeons have level instances to seperate the players in lvs. Also each will be area instanced. If this dungeon goes beyond a certain amount of ppl it WILL be instanced.

So Narence isn 't lv locked. I throught that both the zones were locked. But in truth only one.

As for COH it really isn't an exp dungeon same with Cyborgs barracks and SoTm It's just for items. So Coh should be released from locks. But not level instanced just area instanced.

Oh yeah......Since Narsence Isn't lv locked what is the loot of the Narsence rulers:

The lord of the void:

The lord mob:

the lady mob:

I'm planning to kill TLOV as soon as I scrisibe to sloob, get a team, and get to lv 210.

Well, The Lord and The Lady drop low level symbiants, novictum and generally just stuff that any other (spirit) boss drops. The Lord of the Void drops ql 300 or close to that Shadowlands catacomb boss loot, like agi/sen- and int/psy rings, some fun weapons and obviously really high level monster parts.

I still don't quite understand what's keeping you in this game if you think it sucks, is it just that it's free to play? As Hahnsoo already pointed out, wether or not a game sucks very heavily depends on what your expectations towards it are. I've seen people try out EVE and say everything from "Bye AO, hello EVE" to "This game lost me during its six hour tutorial. Te-di-ous!". Others have tried out WoW, and come back to AO since it simply didn't meet their expectations.

The only thing i really agree on here would be the level lock on CoH. I'm a froob so the others in SL don't concern me as much.

And the graphic update:

This game is nearly 6 1/2 years old or so. Amazingly people still play, i never seen a MMORPG go this long. And apparently this game isn't going to die down anytime soon, this is because theres always new players coming in, and old players going to something better. In my eyes, this game is doing great. Just when the graphic updates come out, and the hover boards come out, leave it alone for a few years.

And for the other dungeon's level locks, I say keep it the way it is.

This is why:

A lot of people make low level twinks, and most of the time, totw weapons are the best they can get on, so there for, don't make it 25-60, leave it at 1-60. Foreman's... make it something like 50-130. So that way, you can choose to do Mort Borg's or stay in foreman's for loot.

Lol, i can go on for a while, but my main point is:

After these next couple updates, leave it alone. I thin its just fine the way it is.

For a really old MMO, have a look here:
http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm?SETV ... =55&bhcp=1
That game celebrated its first decade a while ago, I think.

lol at the idea of removing level lock to replace it with "difficulty leveled instance" :)

With this people that never seen something else than Totw will even be able to level over 60 :) and still cill cultist ! joy :)

Sadly chances are that funcom might reject my ideas:

I have a better one for lv locking:

We remove the locks. But not give it a level instance. If 18 ppl are in a dungeon it gets area instanced.

Just get a lower level Engineer to warp you in...

I know.

5. A few more expansions later......................

Is there a moon orbiting RK?

If so they should do a booster pack on it(6 playfields with dungeons that are non lv locked)

The moon should be a base for aliens to atack RK it's up to the players to destroy their moon bases.

6.Alien weapons in noob area.

They should put ailen loot in the aliens on newb island(low ql). However if a froob kills one he will get nothing from it. If a sloob kills one there's a chance it's gonna drop alien weapons.

More suggestions coming soon!!!

Presumably, the Alien Weapons (which already have a poor drop rate) were removed from Newbie Island loot tables to make it more accessible to... umm, well Newbies. It's a tutorial, not a playfield to grind in and get phats. Dozens of other items were removed from Newbie Island because of the rampant questions that revolved around these confusing items. "Why can't I equip these Kylie'Minogue weapons?" or "What does a Ring of Luck do?" or "What is this Scrap of Notum?"

AO already has a pretty steep learning curve. Newbie Island is meant to help folks become accustomed to the game.

What's your opnion bout my "moon idea"?
