Omni Bartender Killed
And you thought Rome was safe It was a pleasant evening for bartender Richard Miskus of the basic supermarket in Rome Blue until he was killed right inside the bar at 10:20 pm last night. There was only one witness. "I was shopping in the terminal nearby. After I was done, I looked back and saw this greyish-black shadow swooping around the room. The lights seemed to be flickering on and off. Suddenly, the bartender cried out in pain. I immediately glanced at him and I saw that he was bleeding from deep scratch marks. I looked around the room for the shadow and I saw it exit through the door going to where the main shopping terminals are. I ran to the bartender but he was too badly injured that a stim couldn't save him. He died afterwards." He called for Omni-Pol and they arrived 15 minutes later, the eyewitness says. Forensics experts closely examined the body's scratch marks and afterwards consulted Jobe Scientist Dr. Maltrovitch Eskenar about the issue. The scientist confirmed that the scratches left on the body were that of a Shade, and a Shade in particular, because that Shade's scratch marks match those of the one who was involved in a recent incident. There was an accident last week where a failed Shade experiment escaped the dump where they were kept. This was detected by the system and immediately officers from Omni-Pol arrived at the lab to neutralize the threat. Unfortunately, they couldn't find it. How the Shade got to Rome is truly a mystery. Perhaps through the Whompah in Rome Green, but then again, that place is sprawling with urban troopers from the Omni-AF. "Rest assured that this will not happen again." says the scientist. The manager of the experimentation labs in Jobe has promised to tighten security in the areas where failed experiments have been dumped. "All we need is a guard turret that will detect a Shade moving in the shadows." says the manager in a press conference. Whether or not people find his statement promising, the shoppers at the basic supermarket just want a new bartender to serve a good old can of beer.
