Making a profit on Rubi-Ka is easy...

But the knowing how certainly proves to be the hard part for many members of the Rubi-Kan community.

Are you a tradeskiller who perhaps had the hopes and dreams of using your profession's tool set to make a profit? Maybe you are not a tradeskiller but you are a dab hand at using the shopping channels and global market search terminals to your advantage. Maybe you prefer to run missions for the Corporation or your local agents to make a return. Whatever your situation, if you are living on Rubi-Ka it is a given that you will need at least a few credits here and there to get by.

Perhaps the most advantaged professions on Rubi-Ka are those who can tradeskill. When it comes to making a profit these guys are the ones who are where a lot of the high margins can be found. But they have to get to a point where they can make profits.. it isn't like you can start out today as an Engineer on the ICC Shuttle Port island and expect the credits to be rolling in tomorrow. You have to work for it. Tools for tradeskillers, especially those to make some of the more sought after high quality items on Rubi ka can be a pain to acquire... or expensive. This is definitely where you need to weigh up your incomings and outgoings. Say today, you invested in a set of focus funnelling helpers because you didn't really have the time or inclination to go and hunt for the parts yourself. If the additional skills you gained allowed you to do a tradeskill process that would give you profit – surely over time the investment would pay off.

The shopping channels and the global market search terminals can also be a great way to find good deals and then turn them into your own profits. And no.. I don't mean by ripping people off. Often people will sell items in bulk at a reduced rate, or perhaps they will have been trying to sell it for a while.

Running missions for profit has always been one of the standard responses when people are heard asking how to make some credits. Either by running the entire mission and picking up everything in order to sell it for profits, or by "blitzing" the mission. Blitzing is an art form in itself and is basically the skill of finding the machine to fit or item to find for example within the mission and running straight to that and then getting back out as fast as possible. Blitzing is often done for a specific item / items that are known to sell for a greater profit than others to the vendor terminals or other citizens.

In my experience, sticking to just one method of making a good income doesn't very often wield long term good results. Finding your niche in the market isn't perhaps the most difficult to think about however finding something that you can stomach doing long term might be. Realistically do you want to be doing exactly the same thing day in and day out?

I have had the benefit recently of working with a tradeskiller who has been able to make very successful profits. He claims that one of the main reasons that this has been possible was due to his willingness to make investments.

"People claim they cannot make a profit on some items. When these claims are being made surely it is definitely the time for them to reassess what they are making. If you flood the market with just one item at one quality level over time, you will saturate the market and significantly raise the supply over the current demand. You have to be versatile and willing to take a certain amount of risk. Sometimes those risks pay off, other times they are a little slower in becoming profit."

It seems to be a growing trend in recent months for organisations to work together in order for their members to make profits.. as well as for their organisation bank accounts to be more healthy. One long standing Omni organisation is considering having requisition quotas advertised on their HQ bulletin board to enable organisation members to fulfill orders for certain quantities of materials in order to gain a commission on top of their monthly salary. This could be a huge benefit to members of this organisation where they are still learning about the value of equipment found on Rubi-Ka and that could potentially currently just be selling it to an equipment vendor instead of realising its actual value.

If you have any hints or tips about making credits in today's economy on Rubi-Ka, it would be great to read your comments.
