Press Release from Omni-Pol, Atlantean Division Launch of the Omni-Pol Files Last weekend, Omni-Pol proudly showcased a new development for the department to the Board of Directors, which is hoped to improve inter-departmental workings and enhance the work that Omni-Pol does as a department. Today we would like to extend that to the community as a whole. Over the years, Omni-Pol has been involved in countless cases and has collected much information. Without a doubt, some of this information should remain as it always has been, sealed within our data receptacles in the archives. Other information however is already publically available via certain resources. Therefore, the Omni-Pol Administration team decided to open up some of the data that is on our files and hopefully encourage more organisation bodies to apply to have their information available in our publically accessible files system. In addition, these files will act as a public resource to promote law abiding members of our community to exercise their rights to make citizen arrests. What type of information is available? To an average Rubi-Kan citizen who accesses the files, you will find names, an image of the individual you open a file on, and usually information about who they are affiliated to or which organisation they are in. This type of information is fantastic as a public resource to see who could be contacted with regards to say perhaps new technological research projects or queries concerning traffic offences. To Omni-Tek affiliates, information that is viewed as being more sensitive to the company will be available. How do you get access? Omni Tek Affiliates must be registered and logged into the Omni-Pol gridsite under their "known" name to gain access to the information in the files that is not available to regular visitors to the gridsite. It is imperative that the name you register with on the gridsite is known to the members of the Board, otherwise your access will not be granted. Affiliates will not be given automatic access, it will need to be set by the Omni-Pol Command team. Please use the contact form on the Omni-Pol news page to arrange this. Why would I want to apply for my information to be in the files? The Omni-Pol files are an information resource; all well reputed citizens should consider requesting for their information to be added. Information in your own file stating that you can be contacted in certain situations could increase your involvement in activities across Rubi Ka, it will also allow for a smoother interaction with Omni-Pol as you can be directly linked into any of our on going cases. The files are far from only being used as a database of criminals and noone should consider that just because a file exists that the reason behind it is due to illegal activity. It is envisaged that all members of Omni-Pol will not only have a file, but that their file will also link to their Officer data giving more opportunities for the members of the community to know which officers can be contacted in certain situations. How do I access the files? To access the files, you simply need to visit the Omni-Pol gridsite at http://omnipol.sytes.net , once you are there, please click the FILES link on the left hand side of the site. I have questions that are not answered in this press release, who do I contact? The primary administrators of the database are Director Uragon Ciafardoni and General Ukblizzard McChristion.
