Articles - Investigative Report

After the success of the Newland election last year, various neutral citizens of Borealis started to organize the same for their city. After long and hard planning from the committee four candidates were allowed to run for the position of Borealis Mayor. They were introduced Saturday April 15, all Neutrals were invited to join and ask them questions.

The meet and greet lasted 2 hours. Below is the log of the event (it has been edited to remove some unrelated chat and immature behavior by some individuals):

Noticiero: Hello Mr. Vrej
Vrej nods
Toog: Good evening everybody
Collodion: Mayor Toog!
Gorgefodder3: And Toog?
Feleehzy: Ooh, hey Toog!
Gorgefodder3: Oh dear...
Toog: Ah Mister Derringer you are already here
Noticiero: A nanomage...does this mean NLF will lean toward Mr. Vrej?
Yarko: ah, mister mayor
Yarko: good to see you
Vrej: Of course I m.
Vrej: I 'm always in time
Destractor: Well Newland mayor turned out good so I have a good feeling about this
Toog nods
Noticiero: Mayor Toog!
Noticiero: A pleasure to meet you.
Noticiero shakes Toog's hand
Toog nods
Vrej: so were doing it here? at least the weather is nice
Destractor: Well I'm sure it will take a while for things to take place in Newland
Toog: Indeed we will.
Gorgefodder3: For once... we've had quite a bad bit of weather lately.
Toog: I though right over there would be a nice place for your four. everybody should have a good luck at you there
Vrej nods
Vrej: Now lest hope the other show up too
Unayoq looks over the crowd.
Unayoq: seems like a lot of people take borry for granted.
Gorgefodder3 yawns
Gorgefodder3: Wheres the other candidates?
Vrej: late
Gorgefodder3: Vrej has got my vote, at least hes punctual.
Laikki: Excuse me people, coming through.
Toog: Ah Miss Laikki!
Nyadach: nice sign of incompetance for a proposed Mayor then
Gorgefodder3: Eek, its a solitus.
Nuser: whoa pushy
Toog: Were are already at 50%, excellent
Gorgefodder3: Hello Nenaaa
Toog: Major Stern
Nuser chuckles
Toog sighs
Karall: Toog dude!!!
Gorgefodder3: Dante?
Gorgefodder3: Wahey
Felkios: Good evening everybody
Toog: Nice to see you again Dante
Yarko: hehe
Karall: Whaddup, bro?!
Gorgefodder3: Nice to see you again Major.
Gorgefodder3 salutes
Nuser: Planning on running for borealis Karall?
Toog: Hope you brought out little Mittzy?
Muondo: Good afternoon Mr. Spidah
Karall: Mittzy's comin'.
Toog: ah there she comes
Karall: I'mma chill back in the crowd. Ya'll do your thing.
Muondo scans the crowd
Toog: Over here Miss Beauxreau
Weron: Anywhere theres an opportunity for a party?
Nyadach: You know Mayor King, May I be the one to ask, considering this is a neutral election for the Mayor of a neutral town. If not the most important of the neutrally unaffiliated towns due to the size of its population, as to why we haven't seen more candidates for Mayor? is there some political cover up under way resricting candidates?
Mittzy: Huh?
Karall: Just chill and relax, hon. You can do this.
Mittzy: Right,
Karall: gives her a quick peck on the cheek.
Nuser laughs
Mittzy: takes a deep breath.
Nuser: you gotta be kidding
Collodion: Nope, it's for real
Toog looks around
Dabblez: Mitsy running for office?
Karall: Hell yeah.
Nuser laughs
Nuser seems so
Toog: Excellent, seems like everyone is here.
Karall: And I'm acting as her campaign manager.
Toog: I hope you guys are ready, 'cause we start now
Toog smiles
Laikki: Born Ready.
Nuser: surprise surprise
Mittzy: I couldn't pick out what to wear, took me forever.
Toog: Good evening and welcome to the introduction of the candidates for the position of Borealis Mayor. I 'm todays host Zephrem King.
Noticiero: Two nanomages, I wonder which one NLF will support
Toog smiles
Toog: It is a great honour to play this little role today. As mayor of Newland I have seen what a great benefit an official, democratic council ist for a City.
Feleehzy: Both!
Toog: There for I 'm very happy to announce the mayoral election of Borealis. Once the two open discussions have been finished all Neutras above 30 are eligible to cast a vote on one of the candidates. You can do so by sending a mail to the address we will publish on a later date.
Gorgefodder3 coughs at the word democratic
Toog: Once the hopefully many votes have been counted and our Mayor has been elected there will be four Minister seats avaible for neutral citizens of Borealis.
Toog: And now without further delay let us have a look at the candidates. Could you please tell us a little about yourselfs? Age, current business, place of birth and such.
Toog: Major Felkios Stern!
Gorgefodder3: giggles at the dancing atrox.
Nenaaa: intruders!
Toog: Thank you gentleman, but the tabledancers were orderd for after the meeting.
Noticiero: Ehem...Guards!
Feleehzy: Hehe
Felkios steps forward
Felkios: Well, what is there to say? I wouldn't know where to begin in telling you about myself, so I'll keep it to the basics...
Felkios: I'm sixty years old and a retired mercenary, in my time I've seen a lot, done so much that there really wasn't much left. I moved to Borealis a few years back, because I loved the atmosphere and the peaceful mountains
Felkios: Clean air, good fishing. It seemed the perfect place to retire. Of course, that's when I realised I had pretty much done it all, so when the opportunity arose to do something new, and help my home city I jumped at the chance, like I felt thirty years younger again!
Felkios salutes
Gorgefodder3 salutes back
Nyadach scowls
Unwrapme raises an eyebrow
Toog: Thank you Major.
Toog: Miss Anastacia Laikki!
Laikki smiles
Laikki: Thank you.
Laikki: I'm Anastacia Laikki, I'm a politics major born, bred and studied on Rubi-Ka and spent a large portion of my assignment off world studying other planets and their political structures. I've come back here with the motivation, inspiration and dedication to help the people that I feel a part of. Those of Borealis.
Toog: Thank you Miss Laikki.
Toog: Miss Mittzy Beauxreau!
Karall: WHOO! GO MITTZY!
Mittzy: Hello! I'm Mittzy, I'm 22 and I like long walks on the beach. I love Borealis, it's a very pretty city and I like living here with Dante.
Mittzy: It's nice to be here to meet you all.
Toog: Thank you Miss Beauxreau.
Toog: Mister Hephas Derringer!
Vrej: Hello everyone. I 'm Hephas Derringer, some call me Vrej. I 'm 36 year old livelong inhabitant of this wonderfull city called Borealis. I have seen many dark things on this planet and they were far from nice as this night.
Vrej smiles
Vrej: With my extensive experience in politics, security and other fields I believe I can make things even better for Borealis. Better for the Neutrals. Better for Rubi-Ka!
Vrej: Thank you.
Toog: Thank you Mister Derringer.
Nyadach raises an eyebrow
Toog: Thank you Ladys and Gentlemen.
Toog: I will ask you now some question or state some topics of interrest for the neutral inhabitants of Rubi-Ka. Please explain your point of view on this matter for us.
Sadicia: what do you expect from.... *stops short her words*
Toog: What is your stance toward the Clans and Omni-Tek? Wich would you support in case of a war? Miss Beauxreau?
Mittzy: That questions kinda confuses me, because I'm a neutral and that means that I am Neutral in the war between Omni and Clan. If they want to fight, thats cool, but leave the neutrals out of it. But if they want to come here and try to start something with us, then they're gonna get what they deserve.
Collodion: Nice answer
Gorgefodder3 applauds Mittzy
Gorgefodder3: Bravo!
Nenaaa: nice
Toog: Major Stern?
Unwrapme smiles
Zerox2 yawns
Felkios: I've fought in my share of battles for both sides in my time. And I've seen just how fruitless this protracted series of wars has proven for each side. The only ones who profit have been those who remain independent of alleigances. I wouldn't drag Borealis into the war if I could help it. Goes against my every reason for living here.
Gorgefodder3: Even better!
Psymoneer: election
Toog: Gentlemen. Please leave soem room infront of the Candidates, that would make it a lot easier for everyone to see them. Thank you.
Toog: Mister Derringer?
Vrej: They are non-neutrals. That is all that needs to be said!
Toog: Miss Laikki?
Laikki: We're a strong enough people on our own, for one I'd say logically we'd support the winning cause. At the end of the day we need to look out for ourselves, look out for number one. If that means us standing alone at a time of conflict then so be it, It's not our war and we'll only enter if it benefits us in some way.
Zerox2: boo
Toog: Thank you. Now, what is your oppinion about the ICC? Is it a good Idea that they have stationed troops in this City? Major Stern?
Unwrapme: Borealis has been a place of peace Where clan, omni and Neutral can live in peace. Are you going to change that?
Felkios: Their forces have served as a paper tiger, no more. I would support an initiative similar to the Newland militia, an armed force of our own. A force which WE can guarantee we will continue to be protected by. Answerable to the people of this city, and no others!
Toog: Miss Laikki?
Laikki: ay I see it, we have a sufficient force stationed in this city, that and the supression gases are one of the highest on the entire planet. Crime in Borealis is extremely low, it would like moreso be a case of us looking at it, if there came a time when there was a change and going Okay, lets like slow it down a thousand and get some serious changes in here.
Unwrapme: so Yes, you plan on Driving omni and clan out then?
Gorgefodder3: Felkios has already won.
Toog: Miss Beauxreau?
Collodion: Crime is extremely low? That's news to me.
Mittzy: I think it's nice of them to be here to help protect us from the outside influences, like mercenaries. But I think we need to protect ourselves. We need to become more independent with our own Militia force.
Zerox2: excuse me but crime reports are through the roof recently
Collodion: Another fine answer
Verdeoscuro: Nice one Mitzy!
Jolos: so say you
Nyadach: zerox, thats Clan propaganda, ignore it
Unwrapme: i want to hear an answer to my question.
Zerox2 falls asleep
Gorgefodder3: Wake up Toog.
Guneuse: election debate
Toog: Mister Derringer?
Vrej: They have nothing to do with the clans nor Omni-Tek. So it is not too bad. Of course they are not borries, not even from Rubi-Ka. So it would be better if Borealis would be guarded by people from Borealis, that way we could atleast be sure they are working in our favour.
Vrej: Except that, they are doing a good job, except some issues with multiple attacks by some terrorist groups.
Vrej: I 'm sure local forces would do a better job there, since it would be there own homes they protect.
Toog: Have you any plans to change the current defense strategy against the Kyr'Ozch? Mister Derringer?
Vrej: Well, aside from the first attempts on them to take over Borealis we havent seen much of them around here. So it isnt the most pressing matter. But since they are heavily interfeering with the commercial on and off planet shipping we need to take actions back into our hands.
Unwrapme: So what your saying is that omni and clan aren't welcome in borealis any longer?
Vrej: How exactly are we going to do this?
Vrej: That is a difficult question and we will have to work out hte answer while we are going.
Vrej: But I 'm very confident that we, we neutrals will be able to defeat those little green buggers.!
Toog: Miss Beauxreau?
Unwrapme: so yes then, we aren't welcome in a city we've made our home then.
Gorgefodder3: Yes Unwrapme, go home.
Unayoq: you're making a rather large and ill-aimed jump in logic, unwrapme.
Unwrapme: how so?
Collodion: Read the 'Neutral Manifesto' Unwrapme
Gorgefodder3: Hahaha
Noticiero: I'm a clanner, I don't consider this town 'home', it is not clan territory, however I feel welcomed enough by neutrals to visit it often Unwrapme.
Verdeoscuro: Remember Tir, noticiero!
Mittzy: Well technically the Aliens can't attack us because of the 100% gas suppression. However, in the event that somehow changes. We'll have the strenght of our Militia force to protect us, along with all of our citizens Neutral, Omni, and Clan alike to not only protect our city of Borealis but also our planet. Also, huge friggen laser would help... a lot.
Toog: Excuse me Mister Dragonsrock, you are blocking the view for a good part of the audience, could you please move to amore suitabel location? Thank you.
Zerox2: boo
Karall: Lasers for the win!!
Syyceria: pew pew
Nenaaa: pew pew
Gorgefodder3: Hahahaha
Nuser: Your planet?
Unwrapme shrugs
Noticiero: Well I have no influence over the Sentinels Clan, or Mr. Silverstone, I don't think even the clans that support them can convince them of allowing neutrals in Tir, sorry.
Karall: No, no, dude. *Reet's* head.
Nuser shakes her head
Noticiero Thanks
Sadicia: one would think at a political event the security would make clothing mandatory...
Sadicia shrugs as she realises she spoke louder than intended
Noticiero stares at Unwrapme and agrees
Toog: Miss Laikki?
Unwrapme is dressed
Laikki: While the alien threat isn't as bad within these city walls, what with the suppression field, borealis citizens don't stop being citizens of this city the moment they leave these city walls. I am all for striving to put into place a stronger defence force in our cities, and working with our neighbouring cities so that no stone is left unturned in our defence. We are just as competent as anyone else.
Dokurochan: Indeed
Toog: Mister Stern?
Gorgefodder3 salutes
Gorgefodder3: Major Stern.
Psymoneer: man my cream egg melted in my pocket :(
Felkios: Well, the aliens present a threat to everyone, but of course, everyone with a grudge against someone else on this planet will forever have a hard time understanding that. What we need to do is provide greater incentives to the general public to take the fight to the aliens. It's survival of the fittest, but if people won't see that we need to give them something more tangible as a benefit to them! If Borealis were to take an active role in encouraging strategic movements against the aliens, we can start to turn this war from a defensive front to an offensive one. Borealis enjoys relative peace so we often forget, as Miss Laikki observed, that we have citizens who spend time in less protected regions, we should use our position of safety to help those who need it.
Militaryman: I vote for Laikki.
Militaryman: For sheer fashion alone.
Sadicia feels relief
Toog: Lets come to the last question before we take some from the audience.
Toog: If the audience has any question they would like to ask for all the candidates or only one. Please send it to me via tell and I will try to get it in.
Toog: What do you feel the major issues facing Borealis are, and how are you going to handle them? Miss Laikki?
Laikki: Well Firstly, I want to focus on getting our voice heard, not mine, but that of the people. I want to see your ideas put into motion, making us a stronger, more communial people, a people that are heard.
Muondo: Boss, can you find out when they are going to get a Bronto Burger Stand or a Mongrul Meat Stand here?
Laikki: I intend to do this through listening to the people, having a council that are all ears, and that are making sure that they pay attention to the people that matter the most; you.
Laikki: Secondly, I intend to look into the development of this city, Borealis has alot of potential for entertainment industries, trade agreements and from what I've seen from offworld interests, we could even strive to make steps that Omni-TEk or the Clans haven't even considered like Theatres, Entertainment complexes and various other aspects.
Laikki: Thank you
Ablithorator: ok ...
Toog: Major Stern?
Verdeoscuro: Nice one there, Laikki
Felkios: Well, while certain people may claim there are social issues regarding the Clans and Omni at hand, it's an old story, we've seen anywhere with benefits to offer people. I feel it adds to the identity of Borealis as a social hub. A more real threat is, and I apologise in advance Mayor King, losing trade to other areas such as Newland, with growing economies.
Nenaaa: not bad
Toog smiles
Felkios: we need to make sure we maintain our position of offering anything a neutral, or indeed clan or omni citizen could possibly want.
Felkios: Consider it a compliment, mayor King
Gorgefodder3: More Pubs!
Feleehzy: I agree with Gorge!
Felkios: Of course, there is also the issue of self defence. There's no guarantee that the paperwork protecting us under the ICC's wing will always be there. And we don't want ourselves left defenceless just because it's more politically or economically viable to the ICC...
Sadicia: if borealis is to be a social hub for clan and omni then it can not claim for neutrality... instead it would be acting as a mediator in their conflict...
Nuser applauds
Duraz: Holy sheet! Felkios you old merc! what the hell you doing here?
Toog: Mister Derringer?
Syyceria: Thank you, Runeking
Vrej: Hmm.. the main issue. There are lots of small issues, like certain people and groups that seem to have the tendacy to attack this city and the inhabitants or lay false claims to it. The main issue I see that there are so few Neutrals in Borealis. It might just seem so since there are so many non-neutrals around though. We should try to get more neutrals in to Borealis. Actually in every Neutral City.
Duraz takes a close look
Vrej: Hmm.. the main issue. There are lots of small issues, like certain people and groups that seem to have the tendacy to attack this city and the inhabitants or lay false claims to it. Felkios smiles at Duraz
Dokurochan: ICC is nothing but a bunch of greedy mining profiteers
Duraz: Yeah it's you alright, don't tell me Warr kicked ya out again?
Gorgefodder3: Uhoh... I don't like where Duraz is going.
Duraz: Why are you looking at me that way old man? what I say?
Toog: Thank you.
Toog: Now lets come to some questions from the audience.
Duraz: Hey Theebo back off the old man will ya?
Muondo nudges Dabblez
Toog: from Verddeoscuro. I would like to know more about their stance on the Tir issue and the relations with Newland
Noticiero: Hey Duraz, isn't that Omni-Pol over there looking for ya?
Toog: Oh sorry, before you answer
Toog: Miss Beauxreau has still a go on the last question.
Duraz: What? where? dammit! see ya later Felkios!
Mittzy: There are lots of issues going on, but I think we should really try to focus on our economy. We have a lot of business coming into Borealis. I don't mind the Omni and Clan members hanging here, just means they are more likely to spend their creds here. What we need to do is add more to the enviroment to make it more friendly. Shops and resturants, places to relax and hangout. I especially beleive we need our very own Miir Shop. Omin and Clan have them, but the Neutrals are left out. A miir shop will give us all the oportunity to dress fabulously.
Noticiero grins
Collodion applaudes
Nenaaa: i would like a Miir Shop...yes...
Toog smiles
Verdeoscuro: More shops in borealis would be nice
Thebigfix: NEEED BEEEER
Dmom claps and whistles for great clothes
Toog: Now we come to Verdeoscuros question.
Karall: BEER!
Ablithorator: yea more shops but not as confusing as rome
Toog: Who would like to answer?
Thebigfix: Vodka
Laikki: I'm totally down for that one.
Toog: go ahead then
Thebigfix: 160 proof Strough Rumk
Psymoneer: i say you should negociate with the clan and omni-pol and get them to let ur purchase atleast basic items from their shops...
Therat: Concrete for an enjoyable surrounding...
Ablithorator: more shops but not as confusingly set out as rome becouse u carnt really tell or rmeber were it all is everywere looks the same
Laikki: The way I see it, I'm definately intending on making sure that our relations with the other Neutral Cities are as strong as possible, we can combine our strengths and make ourselves a better people. Mr Toog here has a lot of experience, along with his council and I'd sure like to work with them to better this city, combined with my ideas and the ideas of you as the people of Borealis.
Laikki: Then, in terms of the Tir Issue, while I'd love to work with the clans there, it is their city at the end of the day, we can't like totally force them to open their gates, just like we don't have to let people in here if we don't want to. We're neutral, we're independent and we make up our own damn minds!
Laikki: I'm done on that one.
Vrej: Well, regarding Newland, it is a place of neutrals. I consider every Neutral a friend. non-neutrals are a completly different issue and should be handled appropriatly.
Toog: Here we have a quesion from Noticiero for Major Felkios. what is his relation to the Warr family who happen to be mercernaries as he was.
Felkios: I'd like to set this matter to rest for good!
Felkios: I am not now, nor have I EVER been involved professionally or otherwise with the Warr organisation. Quite frankly, I know of them by reputation alone like so many people. In every business there are some who get a bad rep, and word travels fast.
Gorgefodder3: F is for Felkios the Future Mayor!
Feleehzy: Just join the Omni-Tek, they have all the stuff you seem to want.
Noticiero notes Mr. Felkios denial of any relation to the Warr family
Thebigfix: N is for no survivors
Feleehzy: Yarr, vote for Felkios!
Felkios: If we can leave this matter now, and return to the issues at hand Mr King?
Collodion snorts
Dmom smiles at the major
Toog: Alright, from Nyadach: I'm not sure if any of you candidates are up to speed on current gridfeeds? and how the neutral population is busy trying to find its own defination of what it is. Some call this to be our defining hour, when we will hopefully emerge with a distinct image which people will be able to understand what the neutral population is made up of...may I ask you both what your definations are?
Vrej: Yes, I have followed that discussion
Destractor grins
Vrej: however I wont finish my reply before the parents of those kids get them back home. I think they are beyonf bedtime
Nyadach cheers
Feleehzy claps
Gorgefodder3 applauds Vrej
Verdeoscuro bows to Vrej
Yarko applauds
Felkios: we are what we are. I would ask what YOU define neutrality as. After all, it will be the population as a whole which this council represents. Newland are defining their identity, Borealis needs to find its own. Together, the neutral city-states, with their own identities, provide more than any one carved in stone definition ever could
Vrej: The Idea of the Manifesto is quite a good one. If nothing else it will give us a topic we can discuus about, wich will eventuallky bring us closer together
Gorgefodder3 boos Vrej
Vrej: Some of the point in the Manifesto itself are absolutly right.
Nyadach: nice answer
Nyadach smiles
Yarko applauds Vrej
Vrej: Some are not clear or a little wrong
Gorgefodder3 smiles
Mittzy shrieks
Yarko booohs
Vrej: Some should be phrased even stronger to underline our independence from Clan and Omni surpression.
Yarko: we need at least a mayor who can read...
Sadicia: Typical political answer.. stating both directions to deny both in the future
Vrej nods
Laikki: From what I've seen of neutrals, it's not a case of where we stand, it's what we do. We're not fence sitters and we're not omnis or clans. We have our own causes to fight for. We define ourselves by our actions, we'll head in the best direction that we need to head from the voice of the people. No-one else needs to define what neutrals are because we'll be defining that ourselves. We're independent, we don't need to rely on others.
Gorgefodder3: Yep Sadicia.
Verdeoscuro: Mittzy, i would like to hear more answers from you!
Mittzy giggles
Sadicia glances up expectantly
Toog: From our friends of the NLF, What were the candidates going to do about the increasing overmining that are killing of a whole breed that inhabits this planet?
Laikki: If I may?
Toog: of course
Gorgefodder3: smiles politely.
Zerox2 sighs
Laikki: The way I see it, extremist or not, I'll gladly defend anyone who calls themselves a Borealis Citizen. If mining notum to death means the death of you, I won't stand for it, we'll have to find other ways to profit. I've never seen something like the reliancy of nanomages and that of notum, but I'd be sure as hell willing to totally defend my people on this matter.
Gorgefodder3: Yahooo!
Bebohealer: Yahooo!
Karall: taps quickly against his wrist-comm.
Laikki: I'm proud of who we are, as a people, as a force, as an independence. I'll gladly also work to put forth petitions to Omni-TEk and the Clans and Avise them as to the damage it is causing and if they can offer either relief efforts or limit their mining. Xenocide is not an option in my book.
Vrej: Overmining is a serious matter, especially the overming of Notum. Without Notum Nanomages will not survive and Notum is not limitless. Therefor the Notummining needs to be monitored. But since we cant force non neutrals to follow fixed miningquotas, yet. We need to find other ways of sustaining the nanomagebreed should the notum run out one day.
Felkios: this is an issue I'm well aware a large group are concerned by. To this end, I believe research is warranted into the unique abilities of notum, and their orifins, potentially leading to a substitute, which could of course place us in a far stronger position economically when the supply, as with any fossil fuel, runs out... Whether this substitute can be used by Homo Nano to sustain our own lives, a useful tool for offworld travel, or as a substitute for the massive amounts of notum the galaxy depends on.
Toog: Challuca: if we neitrals are not allowed to shop in omni/clan shops why can they shop here and if we are not able to enter tir without being shot then why can they here its like bor has no leg of its own its all under controll by two bodies omni/clan. they can enter our shops our subway our city but if we try to enter theirs we are killed or unable to eneter sounds fair huh
Vrej nods
Feleehzy smiles at Gorge
Nyadach: we're neutral....we're used to the hard life...its cushy enough as it is compared to what it used to be like...whats the push?
Mittzy: I'd like to answer that.
Toog: please.
Destractor taps his ear implant
Zerox2: nayadach, bory is a great city, and most of us live here, y not improve it?
Unayoq: becoming exclusive and xeonphobic is improving it?
Yarko: ah, the village idiot has arrived
Nyadach its improved alot, yet with each improvement brings with it a weakening of the neutral population, if anything we need to teach it how to be strong again
Beboforce: i agree
Mittzy: I personnally don't mind if Clan and Omni hang out here, it just helps out our economy. If they don't want us in their city to help their economies that's their issue. It just goes to show you that if they hang out here and not in their own cities then their cities must really suck. So why would we want to go there anyway. However, i do think we should be able to use their shops, and as Mayor I will work toward opening trade with both Omni and Clan. If Mr. Silverstone doesn't want us in his city, that's his deal. He's a strange one anyways. With the antlers he wears.
Zerox2: i agree that strit government is not the way of the neutral, but this is a city we r talking about, not a side in the war
Laikki: It's not fair no, but look at it in this way, we're a stronger people, we're able to forgive and forget and allow people into our cities, we rise above petty differences and do what we need to do. One day they'll learn, until then I'm willing to work with you as a people to have them 'reconsider' their petty differences.
: You hear a low humming interference over your comm.
Muondo taps his comm unit
Vrej: That are but two of the numerous issues we neutrals have with the non neutrals. They are supressing us on a daily basis. There atrocities against us are countless! We should no longer stand this unjustice. We need to do something! Without us neither Omni-Tek nor the Clans would have survived this long on Rubi-Ka! Without us there would be no Rubi-Ka!
Dabblez checks my comm
Zerox2: wazzat?
Vrej: I can assure you, the day will come when we will be free of our supressors! The neutrals will raise one day and pay back ever single bullet they have shot at us!
Vrej: We will take back what rightfully is ours. Just think about it. We are already everywere, yet our numbers are few. BUT they count! they count way more than those of the non neutrals! Thy have no unity, well they have unity but ONLY if it is against us!
Vrej: The day will come when they will pay the price!
Muondo blinks
Noticiero: I recognize that hum from Old Athen! Alien ships!
Felkios: remember, every credit spent in a neutralstore is one less spent in an Omni or Clan store. As for use of their facilities, we simply need to show them the benefit of increased custom and assistance from our citizens. Many's the night in my youth spent in Omni Entertainment district or clan bars... And the Tir issue... I think we all know where responding in kind gets us all, I hoped the Warr family wouldn't come up twice in this meeting, but I guess it was inevitable. If the sentinels want a straight up fight we'll give it to them, but I think we both know Omni are the real threat they face. We need to show the benefits of a relationship with us if they are to change their policies. I got where I am today by proving just how much use my services could be to everyone.
Feleehzy: Oh my god
Muondo: doesn't like the sound of this
Noticiero stops his reporting and gets his armor on
Karall: Dude there, like, totally needs to not be aliens.
Karall: That is *way* uncool.
Dabblez: What is it with you Dante, every time I see you, aliens attack?
Karall: I've got this running theory that they're after the secret recipe for Da Beer.
Toog: Destractor would like to know if the candidates consider the notum mines around Borry as a usable source of income?
: The interference ceases.
Therat: If you wish to draw more commerce to borealis indeed a more pleasant surrounding would be needed...
Karall: Which, like, they'll get that over my dead body.
Yarko: hmm
Felkios nods
Muondo: Is that like our RURcola?
Noticiero: Maybe false alarm...I hate those aliens
Yarko: that wasn't aliens...
Karall: Dude, Da Beer is *totally* awesome. Like, hit me up later and I'll fill you in.
Vrej: Not realy, they are pretty dead anyways, Omni-Tek already took everything that was worse something, as they always do.
Vrej: If we are lucky there will be enough for some little jewelry
Vrej: I doubt it is economically a good idea to open them.
Zerox2: u know........ heres a question.... y is there an election going on with no guards?
Zerox2 this sounds like another philip ross
Mittzy: I think we're doing pretty well profit wise, I don't think those mines will be worth the hassel. There are bigger better things we should be going for, like opening more shops and resturants in our town.
Challuca: and get our own forces
Toog: Please leave some room infront of the candidates, there are many people that woul like to see them. Thank you.
Laikki: The Notum Sources around Borealis aren't really stable enough in my opinion, at the risk of killing off nanomages within our city walls, no thanks. I'm more intent on pulling offworld strings in trades, and links gained in my experience with off world sources during my studies into politics. We could boost interplanetary debates to the point of furthering ourselves in a way that others would have never considered before. A first for Rubi-Ka.
Laikki: Say I'm done.
Laikki smiles
Toog: Alright, last one from Nyadach. I dont see how he got that idea, but anyways: May I be the one to ask, considering this is a neutral election for the Mayor of a neutral town. If not the most important of the neutrally unaffiliated towns due to the size of its population, as to why we haven't seen more candidates for Mayor? is there some political cover up under way resricting candidates? We are known for our freedom, our democracy. Yet so far this election has all but shown selectionism and corruption. What can you show us to discount these charges?
: ICC message: Please allow the candidates adequate space.
Katralina: Laikki you are for stopping the off world exportation of Notum!
Felkios laughs
Felkios: if there were some coverup, I'm sure someone like me would never have gotten in!
Laikki: If I may put my word in on this one?
Felkios waits for Laikki to speak
Laikki: The way I see it, we put together a council of people, and we count on your voice, if you want to be heard, vote for someone that likes to talk alot, and the person that won't shut up, because they've got to get across your voice, your wants and your needs.
Mittzy: Thanks, I like this dress.
Karall: sighs.
Laikki: At the end of the day, the people that are elected are just there to fill out the paperwork, we aren't telepathic, we're here to hear your voice, because you matter most, the collective voice of the people.
Felkios: please don't forget, the council elections are open to every citizen. I wish those of you among the crowd with aspirations all the best in getting a seat yourself.
Laikki: You know, no wonder you two dancers are single, your style is awful.
Vrej: Of course not everyone who appliled was allowed to actually run. Else you would see here lots of non neutrals standing. I believe you also need a clean criminal record to run for a mayoral position. But otherwise I cant see any reason why you would think this is a fake election. But the real reason so few actually step up for the elections is that not many people are interested in politics. As you can see very well by the reaction of certain people in the audience.
Noticiero motions to the ICC Peacekeeper
Nyadach: Nicely put Vrey
Toog: Thank you everyone for taking on the huge burden of running a city. And thank you citizens to care for your future and to show up at this event. Have you any final words for our audience before we end this debate?
Katralina: how will you protect us Neutrals from the ever increasing Omni-Pol preasence lately?
Vrej: Yes, one last word.
Gorgefodder3: Till all are free!
Vrej: As mayor I will make sure that we neutrals rise to the power we deserve and that the non neutrals wont be surpressing us any longer. Thank you.
Zerox2: i agree
Feleehzy: agrees with Gorge.
Bebohealer: Tll All Are Free!
Katralina: will you keep Omni officers out of are town?
Addams: all this debating is fine, but when are you going to get to the real problem!
Addams: when will bor get a good night club
Laikki: As I said, candidates aside, vote for the person that you feel can get your ideas out and done. We're a people that can defend ourselves, we're not incompetent! Omni, Clans, as long as they adhere to what we set and support then they are welcome, but expect the same tir related force if you step on us, looking for trouble.
Laikki: The future of Borealis, the future of Neutrality stands not with us, but with you, don't waste your vote!
Laikki smiles
Mittzy: and remember: Don't be Ditzy, Vote for Mittzy!
Katralina: so Omni-Pol can arrest any of us when ever they want? you bite!
Addams: mittzy you had my vote until you said that
Gorgefodder3: Ack! Mittzy has the better marketing line!
Lokidoki: mitzzy has my vite due to her dress sense
Felkios: I won't waste time with soundbites or slogans, if you want to know more about me and what I can do for you, go ahead and ask.
Mittzy giggles
Toog: I thank you once again. The debate is now closed.

The following is what took place after the debate, when the candidates mingled with the audience and answered questions.

Karall: Ladies and gentlemen, miss Beauxreau will be available at this point for personal questions and stuff. If you have any requests in reguards to future appearances, campaign promotional activity, or autographs, I will be more than happy to assist with any stuff that you need.
Mittzy: I love clothes.
Addams: felkios. who are you and what do you do ?
Toog sighs
Noticiero: Mayor Toog, would you perhaps have a few minutes after the debate for an interview?
Mittzy: Thank you all for coming!
Fingertip: see you guys... gotta go and pick up gf from work and feed my leet
Addams applaudes
Vexnom: rook on dudes
Dabblez applauds
Zerox2: stern gets my vote, he dosent back his statements with big lazers would kick ass
Dabblez: Go Mitzy!
Toog: I m afraid not. I have lot of work to do.
Therat applaudes
Toog: And I seriously need some rest after this...
Noticiero: I understand, thank you anyways
Beboforce is voteing for laikki
Sylvystia throws breadcrumbs at Luc
Bebohealer: Why dont u ban omni and clan from using neutral shops?! we cant use theres!!
Lucier throws them back
Laikki smiles
Dmom: ronnie
Laikki: Hello there Miss.
Dmom: please sir
Zerox2: sorry vrej, u got cloose, but stern wins
Noticiero: Hello Miss Mittzy
Laikki Is that a Miir suit? It's very impressive
Unayoq: Tit for tat, Bebo? That doesn't sound too much like a neutral way.
Noticiero: I'm Reporter Noticiero Rivera
Fourtwo mutters
Noticiero: Would you have time for an interview?
Mittzy: Of course.
Bebohealer: Neutral way? atleast get an arangement with omni and clan so we can have access to there stores. only fair i think.
Cubira7: i like yours to
Noticiero: Ah, it's crowded here, perhaps a more quiet place in one of the shops?
Felkios: I'm sure I see a few familiar faces here
Vexnom: you should meet MR Neverstiyeh
Noticiero: Mr. Karall is welcomed of course, since he is with you.
Unayoq: I don't have a problem with that part. It's being exclusive and xenophobic that bothers me.
Karall: Maybe after miss Beauxreau has a chance to field any other questions from the audience?
Strongy: vexnom dont be mean
Noticiero: Very well.
Zerox2: i take it the nlf is going with stern?
Mittzy: Don't want to leave the crowd just yet.
Mittzy smiles
Gorgefodder3 laughs
Zerox2: good choice
Muondo: All done here Boss?
Karall: Let's mingle a bit, babe--After that we can head to the interview.
Destractor: ah good to see a good turnout
Felkios: Well, I'm sure they'll vote for who they feel will serve their particular goals best
Laikki: That man should be banned from driving that thing.
Karall: Miss Beauxreau is open for questions at this time, if anyone's, like, interested and stuff.
Mittzy: That's a very pretty dress you have there.
Laikki: Which reminds me.
Unayoq: I wouldn't call that driving, Laikki.
Therat: Vrej you do not feel your opinions are somewhat... radical?
Nuser: He has crushed who knows how many people already with that damn thing
Destractor: RUR need to develop some sort of watercannon for these sort of things
Fourtwo huffs
Vrej: radical?
Vrej: I m stating mere facts.
Laikki: ~Hmmm. reminds me, I need to find someone from the NLF...~
Vrej: I have seen many of the atrocities the non neutrals did.
Feleehzy waves at laikki
Nuser: well that should not be to hard
Felkios: Good to see you again
Laikki: Oh,
Therat: I feel much emotion in your speak but are you sure you can keep a cool head in tough times?
Laikki: Hi.
Laikki smiles
Felkios greets Gorgefodder3
Karall: ... anyone?
Laikki: Are you from the En ell Eff?
Gorgefodder3: Hello there Major.
Fourtwo blinks at Gorge
Gorgefodder3: Nice speech.
Vrej: I m fully aware that we cant get rid of omnis and clans. it would be nice though.
Zerox2: indeed
Felkios: Thank you
Karall: 'k, well... uh.. guess not.
Laikki: What is your opinion on me, as a member of the NLF?
Zerox2: well spoken and well backed
Mittzy smiles
Gorgefodder3 laughs
Vrej: Sometimes I like to rant about them yes. But I have good reason to do so.
Felkios: Is there anything you feel I may have overlooked?
Weron: Shouldn't there be a neutral alternative to Miiir clothing, perhaps?
Vrej: They are after all responsible for the death of my parents
Laikki looks at Feleehzy
Feleehzy looks at Laikki
Nuser: Greeting mr. Stern
Destractor: So Mittzy.. have you learnt much from Dantes campaign in Newland?
Mittzy That's a possibility
Strongy graduits is the meeting done
Felkios: Ah, hello again young lady
Laikki: Feleehzy, What did you feel on the perspective I put across?
Mittzy: Dante has been a very supportive Campaign manager. He has helped me a great deal with preperation for this campaign.
Feleehzy: Well, I kind of liked it.
Karall: I'd like to think that the election in Newland went far to shaping my candidate's own personal vision, to the point of bringing her into this totally righteous race.
Nuser: So I guess your business in Borealis was more than just retiering and go fishing
Felkios smiles
Bebohealer giggles at Nuser
Katralina: Laikki what are you going to do to stop Pols from arresting our citizes?
Laikki smiles
Felkios: Until recently, actually, it was just that
Feleehzy: Yeah, I would like to know too
Destractor: And what will Mittzy bring to Borry that Dante couldn't bring to Newland?
Laikki: I'm going to ensure that they realise that we are in charge of our own defence forces. Martial Law or not, we don't go charging into Rome Red and demand of them a citizen of their standing.
Therat: Sorry I cannot seem to get my thoughts in order now
Mrsangel: good luck to all
Felkios: In part it was meeting some of you people gave me a bit more kick to get more done with my life.
Karall: Well, hopefully a slot in the council.
Karall: chuckles.
Vrej: Too many people around?
Mittzy: Fashion sense. I think it's very important subject.
Laikki: Neutral Citizen within the walls of my city? Zora will have to get through me first.
Destractor: true
Destractor looks at Dante
Nuser: I see
Karall: A sense of fashioning a new future and new hope for the people of Borealis.
Weron: The female touch perhaps?
Therat: Might be I haven't thought some of my ideas through myself
Gorgefodder3: Talk to Nyadach, he was abducted by Pol, in Borealis, and the reason they gave was Talking to the NLF
Laikki: I won't extradite any of my people, or have you taken away into the hands of some foreign power until I say so. Even then I'll be fighting to defend an equal indepenent.
Zerox2: major, many of the questions had to deal with our military
Mittzy: Exactly.
Therat: I just feel we cannot rush headlong to anything
Zerox2 as neutrals, i believe the militart is the least of our problems
Mittzy: I have a lot of ideas for this city, if elected i will work towards making them possible.
Vrej: it is important to be always aware of the situations you are in, this includes lots of thinking.
Laikki: Omni-Pol, only has juresdiction within their territory, they want to shake their bureaucratic ass at me, I'll swing a bureaucratic fist their way.
Katralina: Laikki, how will you stop the exportation of Notum?
Feleehzy: Hehe, sounds good Laikki
Karall: Now, if you'll excuse us both, we did grant that Rivera dude an interview, so best to go ahead and make with that at the moment.
Vrej: If you think ahead and plan before something actually happen itl will give you a great advantage
Nuser: well that pleases me. That you wish to help your fellow mages
Katralina: sence our lives depend on it
Noticiero: Major Felkios, do you believe with your military background you can raise the level of security of Borealis for neutral citizens?
Felkios: Yes, well, you can forgive me for taking a military mindset I hope
Weron: Good luck
Mittzy: Thank you.
Laikki: Well the way I see it, I wouldn't want someone pumping out my life force and shipping it off world for some fatcats profit. No thank you.
Mittzy: Hope to see you next time around.,
Nuser: If you will excuse me..someone seem not to be willing to leave a poor mage alone
Karall: We're ready for that interview now if you are, reporter dude.
Fourtwo grins at Karall
Felkios: Not every issue facing us is a military one, and I hope we can keep Borealis the pleasant safe town it has been until now
Feleehzy: Are you only saying this to get our votes Laikki?
Noticiero: Oh yes, of course.
Katralina: But that will upset some miners that are Neutral and reliy on the exportation
Therat: Are you aware of the situations your opinions might get basic borealis residents in? You don't feel you might cause more hostility towards neutrlas?
Laikki: I'd be all for collecting research into the damage it causes without harming nanomages, future predictions and whatnot and then act upon that. Rubi-Ka is a planet of notum but it's a planet of life and it's unfair that you are brought onto this planet to suffer.
Noticiero nods at Felkios
Karall: Just lead the way, bro.

During the meet and greet a female nanomage going by the name Sectator Triord joined the audience, many recognized her as being a member of the child murdering Nanomage Legions lead by Imperator Volcatius. Many including myself were not at ease with her presence, however NLF members came to her defense going as far as surrounding her to protect her. The question that now comes to mind is, does one or both nanomage candidates for mayor have ties to the Nanomage Legions? if so the NLF and their many members would certainly provide a large number of votes in the upcoming election.

When asked why she was there, her response was "I am simply here to watch this debate" claiming to be a resident of Borealis and even when asked to leave by members of all 3 factions she refused to move while continuing to be protected by NLF members.

I asked the NLF's leader Nuser "The NLF supports the Nanolegions and their Imperator? You support the slaughter of innocent clan, neutral and omni children?quot;. His answer was "I support mages. That is all you need to know". It is now clear the ties between the Nanomage Legions and the NLF are strong, even after the children murdered by the legions from all 3 factions.

How will all this affect the Borealis elections? only time will tell.

Below are some holo-pics taken during the event.
