Community - AOU, we stand by our promise!

Postby Windguaerd » Wed May 31, 2006 1:31 pm

As stated in the "About Us" section here at AOU:

"What the site will NOT have:
- Annoying unwanted advertising and annoying popups."

We have been approached by a known company that deals with in-game AO credits. They offered us money to place one or more banners here at AOU.

Here is my official answer to them and any other company who sells in-game credits that wants to put a commercial banner here at AOU:

HELL NO! OVER MY DEAD BODY!

AOU - For Players, By Players...NOT For credit selling companies, welcome to Rubi-Ka...you got pwned.

Actually, they just asked for a link, and no popup or ad, and wanted to pay just for the link.
However, the marketing strategy of their website is not welcome.

IGE bought allakhazam.com and a couple other gaming sites. I guess IGE will be melding all of those aquisitions into one massive gaming site which will be known as zam.com.

I think the good old days of goldsellers being reviled and spat upon are over. Gaming companies can't control them and it seems gamers can't resist the drug known as RMT - real money trading- for pixelated money and goods.

Your swimming against the tide but I wish you luck. 8)

PS: Allakhazam's is a top 1000 internet site. When sites like that run up the white flag I fear for everyone else who wants to remain outside the realm of RMT.

I never considered myself to run with the stream. There's possibilities for pages like this one to exist, and if it has to be people spending their free time without getting money for their work.

Only dead fish flows with the stream :P
