AO-Universe login doesnt work with aoitems.com

Postby stonehaven » Sat Mar 07, 2015 12:15 am

On https://aoitems.com, it says I can log in with my AO-Universe account but it doesn't work.

Is this a website managed by AO-Universe? Doesn't seem to be a way to contact them or get info on that site... Not a bad site though.

The SimpleID part that AOItems uses is managed by us.
To use your AOU-Login you have to do the following:

Login to AOU and access the User Control Panel.

Go to the Profile Tab and scroll to the bottom where it says Allow OpenID. Make sure it is YES and submit.

On the left side, click on Edit account settings and at the bottom enter your current password in the Current password field, then submit.

You can now use the SimpleID login.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but AOUs and SimpleIDs password hashing functions are very different, which is why the extra password confirmation step is required.
I changed the SimpleID-Login screen to reflect this little instruction.

I have followed the instructions below and on the aoitems.com site to get simpleID working but no matter what I try it always states that my username or password is incorrect when trying to login to aoitems.com using my ao-universe username/password.

Can anyone help?

I can see a valid SimpleID profile for your account exists.
I just confirmed the login process working with my own account.
Please make sure you follow the steps as described in the login page, including the "Allow OpenID" flag in your account and the re-entering of your password in "Edit Account".
