Budabot: new Org Bank module.

AO is the main topic, but you can also talk about things like the latest console game you've played, web comics, movies, music, etc. as they pertain to your AO experience.

Budabot: new Org Bank module.

Post by Silentmeta » Sun Jul 10, 2011 11:40 pm

So what? you say.... 'I use AOIA'

Which is nice for you... I use it myself in fact, and love it. :)

But try and get that info over onto your org bot, when you've got XXX
hundred backpacks spread over 6 alts...

Well, the only 2 org banks I know of are old... and I do mean OLD.

Nobody uses them much, or perhaps they do, but only because there's
nothing else around. They are not intuitive, and require complex setup.

I believe more people would use their org banks to provide items to
other org members, if it was simpler.

So, I've put the MyShop interface onto the front of an Org Bank. Drag-
n-drop, point-n-click, it couldn't be simpler to use. Minimal setup for
your org's bot-master, so no excuse there either! :)

With the help of the coder of AOIA (go read the interview with him!)
this bank module has now been superceded by a Budabot module
called Multibank.

It loads export files from AOIA, using internet shares such as
DROPBOX, and allows lots of people in an Organisation to make
their bank characters available to the Org, without emailing of
files, or other complex work-arounds.

A test version can be downloaded from:

http://budabot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=842

but the module itself will not be generally available until the next
version of AOIA has been released.

Eli.
